I have a goodman heater GMS90703BXA heater. The LED light stays on. Both fans starts working in an initial start. I can hear the electronic gas valve opening. There is gas. But no glow in the igniter and i don't know why. Then the heater turns off and restart itself. I looked at the cirboard just in case and there was no sign of burnt object at all. What should i do?

Replace the glow ignitor. The glow ignitor pops and you can not see anything until you remove it far enough and then you can see a white stripe on one side of the ignitor. This is a very easy fix and you can do it with a 5/16 nut drive or sockets. And unplug the unit. This will solve your problem

Furnace starts up blower starts..nothing ignites...then shuts down. repeats and doesnt stop...sanded igniter stick and nothing happend. flashes red once.

Do you see the actual ignitor glow? You must be saying that you sanded the sensor. The ignitor, after the little inducer fan comes on will begin to glow a bright orange until the burner lights. If the ignitor is broken, you will NOT see a glow, and you may smell a faint smell of gas.

I have a Goodman GMS8 furnace. The unit will start up but then go off so we have no heat. The LED light is not blinking and the rod gets red but then it goes out. What could the problem be?

Does the furnace fire then go out? If it fires then goes out its most likely the the flame sensor. This will be a steel rod that is in the path of the flame when it fires usually opposite end of ignitor. Take this off and clean it with steel wool or very fine sand paper. Make sure to pick the right part, the part that glows red is your hot surface ignitor and should never be touched as the grease on our fingers will react with the silicade nitrade and cause failure.

Goodman furnace ignitor works, blower starts up but no flame, no heat ignitor glows then everything stops

sounds more like a pressure switch problem. If the pressure switch does not make, then the furnace will not attempt to light. Its a safety feature on residential furnaces.

Check the pressure switch and hose for obstructions. Clear any and attempt to re-light. If still not successful, its time to contact a local service company to check the gas valves and electronics.

Ignitor glows but no heat and we know the gas is on. It would light a day ago but would not stay on. Now it will not even come on but the ignitor glows. The AC works. We wonder if it is the circuit board ,...

Make sure the gas valve switch is turned on, if you
have another gas source other than natural gas make
sure your tank is full and turned on.

If you are mechanically inclined, you could try to
take the cap loose on the drip leg of the gas pipe and make sure you have gas to the furnace.

If the igniter glows but shuts off, usually mean there
is a problem with gas valve or vent system

Have a Goodman GMT070-3B which the vent motor seems to be sticking. I took apart and cleaned the brushes and reassembled. The furnace will come on only after what seems like the vent motor comes up to...

The whole assembly must be replaced.

The sequence of operation is -

Combustion fan purges the heat exchanger. A pressure switch verifies combustion air fan is running. Usually a 30-45 second purge before the hot surface ignitor glows, or the spark ignition starts.

Gas valve opens after 10-15 seconds and main burners light. Control board monitors for flame and shuts gas valve after 2-3 seconds if main burner does not light.

If burner does not light, some boards repeat this for 3 tries, then locks out and is reset by cycling power.

Air blower comes on after another 30-45 seconds after main burner ignition.

Times may vary based on the specific controller board. A flow chart and timing sequence should be located somewhere on the unit, usually in the fan compartment.

It's not lighting it's not working I see motor is running and I think gas coming out but it's not lighting I turn off the funance

Turn the power off to the furnace, turn the thermostat to the highest heat setting then turn the power on. The fan may start for a brief period, then the combustion blower will start, after approx 90 seconds, the ignitor will light and heat up. You should be able to see a glowing in the burner lens. If you do not see a red glowing, similiar to a car lighter, that would indicate the ignitor may have failed. If after 3 attempts, the systems fails to light, there is a light on the circuit board that will flash, the number of flashes will indicate the reason for the fault.
