C7200 won't scan to computer even though option is there
My C7200 gives me the option to ''scan to computer'', but when I select it, it states ''No Scan Options, Refer to device documentation.'' This scanner is for my work and not being able to scan docs is very frustrating for me and my director. I've tried shutting everything off (computer, modem, scanner), nothing works.

You probably have Roboform as well. Launch Roboform. It will open in Internet Explorer. Open the settings option.Under the default proflie window select 'applications integration', then uncheck 'automatically attach to Windows applications'. Reboot your system. The program should now close after scans.
To be able to do that without problems you have to have installed the whole program for the scanner..I mean the driver and the software to manage it ..This can be downloaded from canon support site in case you do not have it on a disk ...or in the computer .. http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/support/consumer/scanners/canoscan_series/canoscan_8600f#DriversAndSoftware here is the link where you can download the canoscan toolbox..which is teh software I was talking about .. So , the procedure is to initiate the scanning from the toolbox in the computer ..and during the wizard ..select the preferences to scan document ..and not photo ..This will probably give you the possibility to select the program to be scanned into ..or will scan in word by default..remember to select the option to scan document ..and not picture..otherwise will scan as a photo and will end up with a jpeg of gif file .. Please do not hesitate to ask more questions in a comment if you have something you did not understood..and please rate my answer cause it affects my work here ..
you are doing well, just select MS word program Exe file in C:\program file\Microsoft office\officexx\winword.exe in set option of canoscan.
Then your scan will open in MS Word
Hope it will helps and do rate the solution if so
You can use Paint or a similar program to scan in a picture/document with your scanner.
Once in Paint you can select from Open the option of From Scanner.
You can change the size to fit the page in Paint and then save it to a file which can be opened and sent to a printer.
It's very basic, of course and it doesn't give you the options to set the scanner options usually found in the HP Toolbox.
Try Control Panel, Printers and other hardware, Scanners and cameras..............or, your scanner program such as Scansoft or some other program that came with the computer or is available at the Scanner company website..........or, Scanner and camera wizard program in Accessories........or, free programs you can download like Open Office (a great program) or Picasa.
You probably need to reset (not reload) the scanner software. Start the Epson scan software. Select professional mode from the pull down menu (it lets you choose between auto, home and professional.) On the next screen select at the very bottom select configuration. The next screen should have 4 tabs, select other. The at the bottom (I think) select restore to factory defaults. This will reset your software, now you can use auto mode if you want it to make all your selections or home if you want some control or professional if you want to control everything. Don't forget to use your film holder that came with the unit and remove the white cover that is locked underneath the lid that covers the film illumination bulb.
Hi. Yours probably scans as soon as you have a document in and you double-click, right? I went through this. Double click on the Epson Icon. Make sure the mode preference at upper right is changed to professional. It may start scanning and you have to wait until it's finished to scan again. When you start in professional mode, it brings up a rectangular menu--you probably didn't see this one before (I didn't before changing to professional mode). Now press scan. This gives you a "file save" choice. Chose the location you want. Under the location choice is the Choose Document type option--this is the second key--save as PDF. Now it will bring up that add a page, edit or save file. Professional mode, save as PDF.
sounds like a proprietary TWAIN driver from Canon must be installed...try forcing driver from cd under current devices driver...under device manager, look for imaging devices, then right click-properties then driver-update driver...make sure cd is in
