Question about Vivitar ViviCam 3715 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Batteries do not stay connected

The flap that holds the batteries in the ViviCam 3715 does not keep a tight connection unless it is squeezed. I continually have to go through the setup to change the data, time, etc. Can you help?

Hi jensen,

in that case u'll have to change the body of the camera.
i can tell u a trick: place a piece of an aluminum foil (kitchen foil) between the contacts and the batteries. this will ensure a good connection.

try it and please rate this solution.

good luck!

Your camera was made long before SD cards of that capacity existed. It is only designed to be compatible with a maximum 256MB SD card, as per page 46 of the user manual for your model.

Your fix is to replace the 2GB SD card with the smaller capacity model of 256MB. It's plenty for your camera anyway, as it allows you 96 shots at the highest quality setting and about 2900 at the very lowest quality setting.

You can download a user manual for free from Retrevo by clicking here.

What size memory card do i need

The most common SD card used for Vivitar Vivicam 3715 is the 2GB Standard Secure Digital (SD) Memory Card.

I cannot use the camera on my Mac. On my old Mac it would not put up an icon to click on. On my new Mac it just sends a beachball rolling and rolling and will not stop unless I open the battery...

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use iPhoto or any other photo cataloging program.

The batteries lid of my vivitar vivicam 3715 is broken.

Check with a camera dealer. See if it is easy to get it repaired. It might be cheaper to get a new one.

I had the same problem. If your printer has a slot for the memory card you can transfer them that way. That's how I have to do it.
