The memory is a 3-5 inch rectangle shape with black rectangle chips on it. you need to remove that on each side of it you need to pushoutwares and remove the chip then replace it make sure you hear it click.

62.0 error

62.XX error
There is a problem with the printer's memory. The x value refers to the location of the problem:
0 = Internal memory
1 to 3 = DIMM slots 1, 2, or 3

Recommended Action
Reseat or replace the specified
DIMM

It might also be the formatter but start with reseating the DIMMs

My printer shows memory error on its screen why?

Mem test failure replace Dimm 0 or Mem test failure replace Dimm 1
If either of the are the messages displayed, the problem lies with the mother board (formatter).
DIMM 0 = On Board Memory - cannot be changed. DIMM 1 = Add On Ram - Can be Changed
Make Sure the printer firmware is up to date FIRMWARE
Most Likely the formatter board would require replacing.

RAM error

Populating the memory according to the following guidelines resolves this POST error:
  • DIMMs must be configured in identical pairs.
  • The system will not boot properly if multiple DIMMs of varying density or type are installed in the system.
  • The Entry model servers come with a single 512 MB DIMM. If additional DIMMs are to be added to the existing 512MB DIMM, then another 512 MB DIMM has to be added along with the new pair of DIMMs, or it has to be removed when adding the next pair.
  • Valid DIMM pair combinations use slots 1/5 (Bank A), slots 2/6 (Bank B), slots 3/7 (Bank C), and slots 4/8 (Bank D).
  • Up to 16 GB of memory are supported on the Dual-Core 5000, and 5100 series
  • Up to 32 GB of memory are supported on the Dual-Core 5200 series, Quad-Core 5300, and 5400 series
  • FBDIMMs must be installed in pairs unless operating in single-FBDIMM mode. The server supports single-FBDIMM mode only in FBDIMM slot 1A. FBDIMMs must be installed in sequential order, beginning with bank A.

I have a 3600n and originally I thought the red cartridge wasn't printing but I switched the red cartridge with the black one and then their was no black on the page. Any suggestions on a fix?

.XX PRINTER ERROR A firmware error occurred 1. Press CANCEL JOB to clear the print job from the printer memory. 2. Turn the printer off, and then turn the printer on. 3. Try printing a job from a different software application. If the job prints, go back to the first application and try printing a different file. (If the message only appears with a certain software application or print job, contact the software vendor for assistance.) 4. If the message persists with different software applications and print jobs, disconnect all cables to the printer that connect it to the network or printer. 5. Turn the printer off. 6. Remove all memory DIMMs or third-party DIMMs from the printer. (Do not remove the firmware DIMM in the lowest DIMM slot.) 7. Remove all EIO devices from the printer. 8. Turn the printer on. 9. If the error no longer exists, install each DIMM and EIO device one at a time, making sure to turn the printer off and back on as you install each device. 10. Replace a DIMM or EIO device if you determine that it causes the error. 11. Remember to reconnect all cables that connect the printer to the network or computer. 12. If the error persists, replace the firmware DIMM. 13. Replace the formatter. This error is usually caused by a bad formatter board.

I CANNOT FORMAT AND INSTALL A NEW OS

You RAM module may be faulty or needs reseating in the DIMM slot B. Reseat the both RAM modules then :-
Check the POST information as it boots up, the amount of install RAM should equal to the installed RAM (the total RAM could be 256Mb or 512Mb or 1Gb depends how much memory you purchased with the laptop) less 64 Mb or 128 Mb RAM which is used for video memory (depends upon your video card requirements).
Once you fix your RAM problems you should be able to reinstall Windows.
