I had my D-link Router DIR 625 set as a secure router under the name "Ocean". It worked fine for 4 months, then all the sudden my computer stopped connecting to the internet. I found out that the router became "unsecure" and the name has changed to "Dlink". I currently bypass router by connecting to the modem with a cable. Does anyone know what could have happened? Is it possible that someone in the neighborhood hacked into my router? And most importantly, how to set the router as a secure connection again?

you have to do is connect to the router and change security key/ secure
the connection. Just follow the following steps: - First
you have to access the router through web browser (Internet Explorer)
by typing the IP address of your router in the address bar, which is
192.168.0.1 (Default router settings are written under the router) (unless you've configured otherwise, the default username is admin and the password "leave it blank")
Lookup for the options to do the
following: - Next step is to secure it (adding a network security key): 1.On the left-hand side, under Setup, click "Wireless Setup" Click on Setup at the top and then click Launch Wireless Security Setup Wizard. Select your desired encryption method (WEP) 3.Choose a Network Key - it can be anything, as long as it's 8-63 characters in length 4. Click Save Settings. Also, do the following changes: - 1. Change the SSID (Name) of the router 2. Change the default administrative user name and password (The above steps would prevent unauthorized access to your router) Now your router and your connection would become secure and the user has to provide the network key to access the internet. Please note down the settings such as SSID Key, User Name/Password and Security as in case you loose this information you cannot recover it back) You may also download and refer to Page 60 onwards of the PRODUCT MANUAL DIR-625 for further information, if required

You will need to log into the router's web page to view the security settings and access your security key. The default IP address of D-Link routers is normally 192.168.1.1; simply input this IP address into the address bar of your web browser.
You will be brought to a D-Link page and be prompted for your user name and password. If you have not made any changes then the default password should be admin. If you changed the user name and password simply enter them here.

If you are unable to locate any of these or you have changed the user name and/or password and no longer remember what they are, you will need to reset the router and set up your wireless network from scratch.
