Question about Kodak EASYSHARE 5100 All-In-One Printer

Color prints look faded

I've done the maintenance (calibrate, clean printheads). Still the prints look faded. Color is terrible. Before Christmas I replaced the printhead. I use only Kodak paper and ink cartridges (which are new).

I have a similar problem with the 5100 the color looks faded even after maintenance. I replaced the print head three months ago and was told by Kodak that it would need replacing a second time. A new print head is on the way. Call Kodak

Brother MFC-440CN - print quality terrible, almost non-existent in spite of many cleaning operations.

It sounds like the printhead needs to be replaced. Brother may cover the cost of repair if you call them at 877-276-8437 and tell them the prints are "missing black ink". Very common problem that a new printhead should fix.

Pixma mx330 printing very faded colors

try selecting higher print quality setting. If it still prints faded on "standard" or "high" quality, try running the "printhead clean" or "deep clean" utility (under "maintenance" in printer properties).
If still no good, refill or replace cartridge(s).

good luck with it

Color cartridge won't work. The printer will not print in color

We kindly request that you do a Firmware update from our website by following the prompts that appear. The link is as follows:
www.kodak.com/go/drivers
• Please then remove the ink cartridges
• Remove the Printhead (Upon removing the cartridges push up on the grey tab). Now please reinsert the Printhead. Insure it clips into place.
• Thereafter you can Deep Clean the Printhead. Open Kodak Homecentre, click on the "?" on the top right corner, choose "Maintenence" and "Clean Printhead"
• Open Kodak Homecentre, Click on the "?" on the top right corner, choose "Maintenance" and "Calibration".
• Please now choose the option to print a "Demosheet" in the "Maintenance" section of the Kodak Homecentre Software.
If this does not resolve your issue please advise us on the print quality of the Demosheet.

Try this one, Turn on the printer, Take out the inks, remove the printhead, put back the printhead make sure it will snap and you hear a click, put the inks back, wait for the printer to initialize, Press the Menu button, look for Calibrate printer, then print calibration page, then scan it after. Load a regular paper. Then try to print a demo page by pressing Photo and Copy at the same for 5 seconds then let it go. If same problem persist call this no for further assistance 1800 421 6699

Prints faded

Hello mvjv,

To solve the faded prints you need to clean the printhead twice by going to the software and click the "?" mark icon on the upper right corner of the software window and then under General Links select Maintenance then choose Clean Printhead - do it at least thrice to unclog the printhead system. Then try making prints... If still cannot solve call Kodak Technical Support.

I hope I have been some of help.

Bought easy share 5500 few months ago. recently changed ink cartridges and color is terrible. advise

Most likely your print head is clogged, there are 2,000 some nozzle's in it. If the printer is not used for a moderate amount of time the ink can dry up and cause a clog in those nozzle's. You can try reseating the ink cartridges(take them out turn off power, unplug printer, power back on & wait for it to get done making noise) then proceed doing a printhead clean from the main menu, or homecenter->?->maintenance. Then after that do a calibration, print a demo sheet to see if there is any improvment. The printhead clean pushes ink through the nozzles to try to clear clogs. The calibration scans those nozzles to see which are avalible to use, and makes sure that all the avalible nozzles are being used. If this does not fix the problem you most likely need a printhead but you will have to call kodak; as they are not avalible in stores. Also you can try updating your firmware from kodak home center, or www.kodak.com/go/downloads
