You have lost the red device inside of projector. Could be.... Bad red cable, or electronics, or device.

You have a break in the VGA feed to your projector, try another lead and try menu see if it is missing from there if not it is the lead.

SOURCE: Color Problem

I think that projector used three different LCD panels with red, blue and yellow. You probably have a damaged red LCD panel, and if so, it is not worth getting the projector fixed. Those panels were really expensive back then.
I once had that red problem with a projector and it turned out to be a bad connection on one end of the "computer to projector" cable. Borrow one from a friend and see if it solves the problem.

SOURCE: Sanyo PLV-Z3 Multimedia Projector problem

This could be due to one of the three filters that are easy to change - download the free pdf service manual - not the user manual - it is very descriptive and the filter is about $120 from Sanyo.

SOURCE: Projector screen turns off after 10-20 seconds

Is the projector receiving a source signal? if not it will power itself down after whatever time you have it set to do so when no signal is present.
Just an idea?

It doesn't show red color. i tried to do factory reset. but still problem.

1.After turning on the projector, press "+" and "-" buttons on the control panel
simultaneously for 3 seconds and release the buttons when screen goes blank.

2 Press "+" and "-" buttons again to exit the diagnostic mode.

3 While in Self-diagnostic mode, the screen will run a seven-color-cycle test as
following:
Red--> Green--> Blue--> White--> Watchet Blue--> Dark Green--> Yellow.

Ensure that the colors of the test pattern are correct.

Contact Dell if the colors are not displayed correctly.

The projector does not show the color red. It shows it as black or on a black background shows nothing at all. Can you help?

It could be 3 things--
1. You need a new cable
2. This is unlikely, but the red segment could be off the colorwheel, but if this was the case the wheel would be way out of balance and the projector would be vibrating like crazy.
3. The "color ramps" or colorwheel index in the hidden factory menu may need to be adjusted.

Projector lamp shows blue on white screen

the red is cutting out. white=blue+green+red. without red, you get blu+green, or cyan. if this was an lcd projector, i'd say it's a burnt light filter, the red lcd, or the lcd has come unplugged. but since this is a dlp projector, you have either a dmd board issue or a main board issue. either way, it'll be pricey.

Colour problems with projector

In short If the reds show as red, The greens show as green & Blue shows as blue. I would say thats as good as it can project. It's hard to judge color without seeing it for ones self but usually DLP projectors that use a colorwheel do not have perfect color.
