Hi, I have this LG KU990 Viewty phone for just over a year now, but since a week it says: invalid USIM. I've tried many times to clean the surface between the USIM and the USIM-spot on the back of this cellphone, but nothing works.. Is this a common problem, does anyone have a solution for this? regards
I still don't know what the problem was, but one day I turned on my cellphone and it just worked.. Becky 1234 tried to help, but when my SIM-card worked once before, SIMlocks cannot be the problem..Thanks for replying anyway.

Try default codes or master rest codes to reset your security settings ,invalid sim is due to the network lock you na\may contact the service provider if you need to unlock it using codes try here http://www.mobileunlocksolutions.com/
mine done the same, i put the sim into my dads phone and it aksed for a puk code i got a puk code from orange customer services and unlocked the sim using my dads phone when i put it back into my viewty all was fine hope this helps
This has alos happened to me, I put in the wrong pin 3 times, then as it was laste and it was asking for a puk, I turned the phone off to save the battery, when I turned it back on it came up 'Invalid USIM card' is there anything that can be done?
Debbie invalid usim means its been barred by the network, so whom ever the network provider is for the phone you will have to give them a call and ask them to un barr as you have just brought it. We brought on off ebay at christmas on orange as we're on orange and had the same problem. We called them and they took the barr off straight away, no charge. Jan
It sounds as though the phone is locked. When I had this happen to my Samsung A707, I had to send it back to Samsung to get it reprogrammed. (There are people who have bought the necessary hardware to interface with a mobile phone's OS, but I preferred Samsung themselves.) This was a free service (except for shipping) from Samsung. If you contact Motorola, they might be able to simply reprogram the phone for you.
