There should be an option on the camera that allows you to. It might be under settings or menu. And it will ask do you want to display detail

Olympus 770sw camera. no image on lcd when taking photo

The issue you are experiencing with your Olympus 770SW camera, where the LCD screen is not showing an image when attempting to take a photo, could be related to a problem with the camera's display or image processing.
Here are a few things you can try to troubleshoot the problem:
  1. Check the camera's settings: Make sure that the camera's display settings are set to show the live view when taking a photo.
  2. Check the LCD screen: Make sure the LCD screen is clean and free of any scratches or cracks.
  3. Check the camera's firmware: Make sure that the camera's firmware is up to date.
  4. Check the camera's battery: Make sure that the camera's battery is fully charged and properly inserted into the camera.
  5. Check for physical damage: If the camera is not under warranty and you have the technical knowledge, it is possible to check the internal processing and the LCD screen for any physical damage.
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, it may be best to contact Olympus customer support for further assistance. They will be able to diagnose and fix the issue, or tell you if a repair is needed.
It's important to note that the Olympus 770SW is an older model camera, which makes it harder to find replacement parts and professional repair services.

Downloading Pics to PC

Make sure the camera is on and pc is selected on the camera screen when connected to the computer. You will need to have PC highlighted and select ok on the camera as this starts the camera and computer to communicate. Once communication established the LCD screen of the camera goes dark and the computer should generate a removable disk drive. Check the System Tray (lower right corner beside the PC time) for Safely Remove Hardware. When you click on it, it should read "Safely Remove USB Mass Storage Device Drive ?:" If you dont see that, then check the Device Manager to see if the camera is recognized as USB Mass Storage Device. The camera uses the driver usbstor.
