Hp laptop dv9500 noisy and loud fan ...

Hi,

Recently I have problem with my 17" hp laptop. There is a loud grinding noise coming from somewhere where the fan is fitted. The noise starts after few minutes I start the laptop. I could not figure out what kind of fan is causing problem. Some people told it could be cpu fan or normal fan or it could be a power supply fan. Recently I have installed Notbook hardware control (NHC) software and suddenly I got extermely low contrast on the screen and the noise stopped. It never happened before. When fan starts making noise I must have to stop working. After installing this software I almost solved the problem, but still it kicks off intermittently. Could anybody tell me what could be the problem ?

The sound you are hearing is probably the fan, This fan has a noisy bearing and will eventually lock up and the fan will stop spinning and therefore the CPU will overheat and shutdown.
The fan needs to be replaced.

Microwave made a loud grinding noise while heating a cup of coffee for 1 minute, now everything is shut off. We checked the curcit breakers all ok, and there is power going to it!

see this causes and fix it. God bless you
Turntable Motor If the microwave is loud or noisy the turntable motor might be worn out. This is a common problem and relatively easy to replace.
Stirrer Motor If the microwave is loud or noisy the stirrer motor might be worn out. The stirrer is a metal blade which slowly turns around, deflecting the microwave energy in a random pattern inside the microwave oven. As the motor nears the end of its useful life it begins to make grinding noises. The microwave will not heat food evenly without this stirrer, the motor should be replaced.

Exhaust Fan Motor If the microwave is loud when running the fan motor might be

Magnetron If the microwave is loud or noisy only when cooking, the magnetron tube might be defective. The magnetron uses high voltage, high current DC power to generate the microwave frequency that cooks the food. Under normal circumstances the magnetron is nearly silent. However if it is damaged or nearly burned out it can begin emitting high pitched or growling noises. It's not normally dangerous to use a microwave oven when it makes these noises, but they are an indication that the magnetron is almost dead and will need to be replaced.

I have an HP dv9500 Intel laptop. The fan is making some pretty bad noises. I took the laptop apart according to the HP Maintenance Guide. I found tons of animal hair (I have two cats and a dog) and...

If there is nothing hitting the fan blades and the fan makes a grinding noise then the fan bearing is faulty. You may be able to place a drop of oil on the bearing under the label in the center of the fan and if this does not work then you need to replace the fan.

Fan is noisy -loud wheezing sound. No dust. Banging on case sometimes stops the noise.

The fan has a noisy/worn bearing, I recommend replace the fan.
Banging the laptop base is not recommended, you could damage the hard disk.

A loud grinding noise comes from the fan area

Check if there are dust debris on the fan, it could create a grinding noise, but if the fan is clean, there could be a mechanical problem with it. Hope this helps

Hotpoint CDT00G Very Noisy

If the noise is like a shaking of rattling , like coins being shaked , then it is an object trapped inside the drum.

If instead the noise is a loud grinding , that may get louder on high speed, then it is usually a bad drum bearing.

If dryer is not cooling, check that the noise is not coming from the ventilation fan.

Rollers and belt tensioner can also make noise.

I think the fan is making a super loud grinding noise.

I would not recommend this. You could fry your cpu and then you would have no notebook. If you are going to open the notebook make sure there is nothing interfering with the fan. The fan can be replace. Take the fan out and try to replace it, if needed. Do not run the notebook without a fan.
