Hi there
It has something to do with your antivirus i think, If you used the System Restore function of your computer, it is very likely to have installed an obsolete antivirus program. Almost all computers now come with an antivirus program some sort installed, and the Restore disks (or built-in System Restore) will reinstall it automatically.

Open the Windows Control Panel, check your list of installed programs, and see which antivirus program you have. Uninstall all but one of the antivirus program's.

Good luck and thanks for using Fixya!!

When i download any program than after run this in my computer a message show that it is unpacked program with code LP5 report to author. i can't understand this problem that how i solve this. please help...

Many programs often remian in a 'packed' form until they are run, at which time they are unpacked into memory or into a temporary storage on your hard drive. The error you are getting is basically saying that something is preventing the software from being unpacked. The specific cause off this is difficult to determine. Since you are getting the message on multiple programs I would suggest you try disabling any security software you have e.g. anti-virus, anti-spyware etc. to see if this is causing the problem. If this is the case then use a different security program (free ones are AVG, Avast, Zone Alarm). Also, make sure the date on your PC is correct because sometimes this can cause problems with some programs.

Error while unpacking program, code LP5. Please report to author. how to fix it

LP5 code error normally means that the package is corrupt. This can happen as a result of a bad download or malware on your PC.
or
This program has been damaged, possibly by a bad sector on the hard drive or a virus.

Hope it helps.

Error while unpacking program, code LP5. Please report to author. my email id is sameer_msb77@rediffmail.com pls revert back as soon as possible thank u

Please search your registry for this exact string. Copy and paste it to your search parameter.

C:\WINDOWS\system32\svdhost.exe

If you have this, it is a Trojan Virus and you need to act quickly to remove it.

It's an oldie, so most good antivirus programs and anti-rootkits should save you.

Other forms of LP5 may be genuine and related to Zip file problems from genuine programs, and are simply corrupted, but somehow I doubt this is the case.

Error while unpacking program, code LP5.

I have the same problem "Error while unpacking program, code LP5. Please report to author"
Here is the Solution:
1. The number one solution is to disable or turn off your current anti virus for a while or every time you use that program showing "Error while unpacking program, code LP5. Please report to author." ,
  • then restart your computer,
  • open the program again which previously having error "Error while unpacking program, code LP5. Please report to author."
  • Then after using the program, you can enable or turn on the anti virus.
  • Note: If you will enable the anti virus, the error message to that program will show again; in that case, if you want to use that program again, disable the anti virus again for a while then restart your PC
  • I hope this help you very much. Thank you!
