May want to remove the transfer/separation assy. directly below the drum, the paper during the copy cycle goes between this assy. and the drum. the assy. provides a high voltage below the paper to allow the toner to attach itself the paper. Clean the very, very thin wires inside the assy. with a pencil eraser be gentle or they will break and need to go find Corona wires for the transfer/separation assy. for EP5000, try below web site. Also has the developer and or drum been replaced? also clean the mirrors under the big glass, be careful can use Windex. Again be careful. do not ruff up the mirrors they are aligned. Remove the Large glass below it you will see a pulley in the middle to the right of the pulley you will see a lens assy. off to the right of the lens assy. (looking from the left side of the copier) near the front side of the lens assy. is a small sensor the monitors the Exposure lamp. that sensor is causing that code. Open close front door to reset. if it comes back replace the sensor will be hard to fine due to the copier is a legacy machine from Minolta now Konica Minolta. try link below Precision Roller Printer Toner Cartridges Parts and Supplies Office...
Automatic Image Density Control sensor error. Please clean the sensor under OPC drum, press the reset switch after open the front door.Enter into service mode (press STOP-0-STOP-1) select F code history ,open and close the front door, press menu, press reset twice.
Code COb31 means that the sorter didn't reset after a job. If you try doing a reset by opening the sorter as if there was a paper jam and it doesn't reset, it means that you have a problem with the sensors by the motor that turns the bins to open and clause as the paper passes. Give it a good blow with air. GOOD LUCK.
