Question about Microsoft Xbox 360 Console

FFXI on newly repaired 360 won't start up

I recently sent my 360 away for repairs and now when I try to play Final Fantasy XI it says that "The game could not start. Please download the game again" specifically referring to the PlayOnline Viewer. The PlayOnline Viewer cannot be downloaded and I don't know what to do at this point. I wouldn't even be able to uninstall FFXI from my hard drive without the PlayOnline Viewer.

I used to be able to switch my hard drive to any of the 3 X-Boxes I have and play (So I didn't have to re-wire my X-Box if my wife wanted to watch TV, I could just use hers). I think they changed something about a year back to prevent people from sharing the game on multiple systems. I'm not sure why, since there's still the monthly fee.

I recently had my 360 replaced. Now, I installed FFXI, and after playing for an hour, my 360 says it can't read the disc. The disc is flawless, and the 360 plays other game. Now I can't even delete the viewer from my hard drive!

Haven't played FFXI in forever, wanted to delete it, can't since game won't load after getting my system fixed.

I sent in my console, Microsoft sent me a replacement console and now FFXI won't work; I'm unable to reinstall Playonline Viewer.

I understand Square Enix wanting to make a buck here and not have that game shared on many consoles at different households but come on.......

i have a new console (xmas '08) i ordered the ffxi disc from amazon and installed it and was able to play it on 2 occasions for about an hour each but then the disc suddenly became unreadable. I sent that disc back to amazon for a replacement but it does the same thing. Now I have about 10 gigs of wasted space on my hdd, anyone know a work around maybe?

I got this game went through all the **** to install it and everything... So I left it on for a few hours while it did everything... then I shut it off so I could go to bed and when I came back in the morning the disc couldnt be read... So I looked at it and it had the circular scratches... So I had my hubby take it back and get a new one... Now the second disc will not work at all and its severely upsetting me... I want the stupid **** off of my xbox... I cant even delete it from memory due to the fact that I never got to play once... I cant even get the disc to work in order to delete Play Online... If anyone knows how to do this please let me know!

Same thing happened to me, but it used to work until i bought a core system because my last one got the red ring.....

Same thing, but on a refurbished 360 with a 20 GB HD, and the game is Halo 2. I have tried 2 different Halo 2 discs, cleared the cache and even formatted the HD. Still gives me the error!

sometimes when the xbox 360 overheats it causes the dreaded 3rrod, what a lot of people dont realise is that it also affects the laser too sometimes. ive seen a lot of 360's with 3rrod that has also affected the laser unit and as a result the laser will need adjusting and the power turning back to optimum. if you need a guide i can find one for you. its an easy sort of job if you know what your doing.

it could also be a fault with the authoring on the disc itself. if a lot of peeps are having the same sort of problem then you got to account for this too

I want to delete all final fantasy XI from my xbox 360 but cant find it to delete it

To uninstall FFXI you've gotta load up the play online screen and there's the option 'Uninstall' it'll take you to an Install menu. from there click uninstall software, say yes and it'll begin uninstalling.
WHo is the "guru" above me that doesnt know that FF11-files are hidden in the regular memory menu?

Need to delete Final Fantasy XI fom Xbox 360 and can't find the files for it. I think they're hidden. Anyone know how to find hidden files on the Xbox 360?

You cannot access hidden files on your xbox 360. What you do is go to MY XBOX > GAME LIBRARY> COLLECTIONS> ALL GAMES> FINAL FANTASY XI> DELETE. Doing this will delete all the game files for Final Fantasy XI.

Expansion bay for playstation 2

Odds are you may have a dirty or loose connection in the bay, worst case scenario you may have to reformat the HDD and reinstall, sometimes if the bay gets dirty and you continue to play the game, data is lost and it can corrupt the HDD information over time. Good news is it isn't likely that it's "Broken" try cleaning the bay connection, if the ps2 reads the HDD but still doesen't play FFXI you can try formatting and reinstalling.

Hope this helps.

Can't locate Hard Drive

If you have every removed your hard drive, then try taking it out and cleaning/checking the connections. Then put it back in. If you haven't then try that anyway but it is less likely to work...
