you can try using other browsers, if the same error occurs, it may be the the facebook server is down at your area or at the moment your trying to access it or you can check on the router settings, see if facebook is included on restrictions, also check your firewall settings.
TO HAVE I E working you have to have network connection with a server.Have you got a server i.e.Virginmedia.com or, Supanet.com,or Sky.com.or bt .com.Then you have to have your router working as well.Your cable connections healthy etc.Go to I.E.and go to tools and see if 2work off line is ticked if yes untick it.
Not a problem, you have to consider maybe other devices and or networks competing/interferring with your network. If you know how to enter the Linksys router menu I would 1. change the frequency the router operates on 2. change the channel the router will use 3. change the default password to something else besides the default.
All of the settings for your router out of the box are at default, wonder how many other people are running the same thing in your neighborhood? I always change from the default, you may also be receiving interference from devices using the same freq/channel as your router. Changing these will eliminate those possibilities.
Don't forget to encrypt your network, that is most important.
Here are some options with that router. Some online games and videoconferencing applications are incompatible with NAT. The WGR614 router is programmed to recognize some of these applications and to work properly with them, but there are other applications that may not function well. In some cases, one local PC can run the application properly if that PC’s IP address is entered as the default in the PORTS Menu. If one local PC acts as a game or videoconferencing host, enter its IP address as the default
To set up an additional computer to play games like Half Life, KALI or Quake III: 1.Click the button of an unused port in the table. 2.Select the game again from the Service Name list. 3.Change the beginning port number in the Start Port box. For these games, use the supplied number in the default listing and add +1 for each additional computer. For example, if you've already configured one computer to play Hexen II (using port 26900), the second computer's port number would be 26901, and the third computer would be 26902. 4.Type the same port number in the End Port box that you typed in the Start Port box. 5.Type the IP address of the additional computer in the Server IP Address box. 6.Click Apply
The WAN Setup options let you configure a DMZ server, change the MTU size and enable the router to respond to a Ping on the WAN port.
Connect Automatically, as Required
Normally, this option should be Enabled, so that an Internet connection will be made automatically, whenever Internet-bound traffic is detected. In locations where Internet access is billed by the minute, if this causes high connection costs, you can disable this setting.
If disabled, you must connect manually, using the sub-screen accessed from the Router Status menu "Show WAN Status" screen.
•Disable SPI Firewall
Normally, this option should be Enabled, so that your local network will be protected by the Stateful Packet Inspection (SPI) firewall included in the WGR614. However, certain communications functions like VPN may require turning off the SPI feature.
•Setting Up a Default DMZ Server
The default DMZ server feature is helpful when using some online games and videoconferencing applications that are incompatible with NAT. The router is programmed to recognize some of these applications and to work properly with them, but there are other applications that may not function well. In some cases, one local PC can run the application properly if that PC’s IP address is entered as the default DMZ server.
Note: DMZ servers pose a security risk. A computer designated as the default DMZ server loses much of the protection of the firewall, and is exposed to exploits from the Internet. If compromised, the DMZ server can be used to attack your network.
The WAN Setup menu, shown below lets you configure a Default DMZ Server.
To assign a computer or server to be a Default DMZ server, follow these steps:
1.Click WAN Setup link on the Advanced section of the main menu.
2.Type the IP address for that server. To remove the default DMZ server, replace the IP address numbers with all zeros.
when you do port forwarding you must know or have a static ip of the device for the application. For example, if you want to forward port 3074 for your xbox live, you need to enter also the xbox ip address on the port forwarding page. Port forwarding is like opening a port on your firewall for that specific application. Make sure also that you have the latest firmware of the router.
Well, the ISP really should be able to help you here, since the equipment is theirs... Did you ad for a technician to come out to service this connection?...
Some of these routers come with a RESET feature, a button on the back of the router.. you might try resetting it back to its defaults.. If it has one, then depress it for up to a minute.. this should reset it configuration...
Let me know if you find it.. and we can go from there..
Please go to the following website and check the port numbers that you have forwarded. Some wireless routers do have issues forwarding ports.
Also, before you use this tool, make sure ICMP is not blocked in the router's settings; if it is blocked all ports would show blocked.
Try this and let me know the results.
