If you have a Recovery Partition .. you can access it by powering on while holding the F-10 key... (some models use a different F-key)..There you can restore or recover windows.. If no Partition exists, you will need a windows OS cdrom and boot to it, at the first screen it stops at, press R to get to your Repair Utility Screen.. Choose the Proper Hard Drive Partition From the choices given, and once it gets to the prompt... type fixboot.... when that finishes, type fixmbr... reboot..

    • 1 Download the missing comctl32.dll file. Locate a website that offers the comctl32.dll file. You can also use the link in the Resources section.
    • 2 Unzip the download file if it is a .zip-type file. Right-click on the file and choose "extract" to make the file available in a .dll format.
    • 3 Install the missing comctl32.dll file in the proper folder on the computer. If the operating system is 64-bit Windows, copy comctl32.dll to the "C:\Windows\SysWOW64" folder. If the operating system is 32-bit Windows, copy comctl32.dll to the "C:\Windows\System32" folder.
    • 4 Restart the computer by clicking on the "Start" button and selecting the "Restart Computer" option.
    • 5 Open the computer program that previously displayed the error message stating that the file comctl32.dll was missing. This will verify the program now works properly.

Advrcntr2.dll is missing

To install advrcntr2.dll, follow these instructions:

  • Open the zip-file you downloaded from DLL-files.com.
    • Extract the .dll-file to a location on your computer. We recommend you to unzip the file to the directory of the program that is requesting the file. If that doesn't work, you will have to extract the file to your system directory. By default, this is C:\Windows\System (Windows 95/98/Me), C:\WINNT\System32 (Windows NT/2000), or C:\Windows\System32 (Windows XP, Vista, 7).
    • Make sure overwrite any existing files (but make a backup copy of the original file).
    • Reboot your computer.
    • If the problem still occurs, try the following:
      • 1. Press Start and select Run.
      • 2. Type CMD and press Enter (or if you use Windows ME, type COMMAND).
      • 3. Type regsvr32 "filename".dll and press Enter.

Can`t load cd/dvd`s in my laptop. Clicking on my computer and the drive is not there, any ideas?

This is caused by the upper and lower filter registry in Windows. I've created a link for you. You have to access this link to download the rmvfltr.exe file. Regardless of the laptop brand you have, follow this instruction/s: It will work.
  1. Access this link: http://tiny.cc/49KcC then it'll ask you to run or save. Download and save it to your desktop first. You'll have the RmvFltrs file on your desktop,

  2. For Windows XP, double-click the file RmvFltrs.exe on the Windows Desktop (select unzip) to start the installation program.

For Windows Vista, right-click the RmvFltrs.exe file, and choose the "Run as Administrator" option. ** If a User Account Control dialog box displays the message, "An unidentified program wants access to your computer", click Allow. (Select unzip if it asks you to do so.)

  3. Follow the onscreen prompts to complete the installation.

  4. Restart the Computer.
It should work after computer restarts.:)

This is because of either the system has shutdown while it was processing a windows file. sometimes repairing the OS or running a CHKDSK /R in the recovery console will fix this problem. if that doesnt help i recommend you change your HDD

This is work for a computer reparer with 'real' tools (e.g. an external DVD drive).

The only thing you could try yourself is removing the harddisk, placing it as a second harddisk in another computer and cleaning it with a program like Malware Bytes Anti Malware.

I'm pretty sure you have a failing hard drive. Try dowlnloading diskeeper 2009 trial & see what it shows for fragmentation of the drive. Run the program & defrag the drive. If that doesn't help you can look for a program called tuff test & check the drive that way. That's the sure fire way to find out. If the drive passes tuff test then back up your important stuff & reformat & re-install the os. Use google to find tuff test. Good luck!
