Bissell Healthy Home Won't turn on

Yesterday I plugged my vacuum in to use and it would not turn on. I tried a lot of outlets and still nothing. I even tried it this morning and it still won't turn on.

My Bissell Healthy Home won't turn on either.  I used it in the garage to clean out my car.  One time it was working fine, the next it wasn't.

I found the solution for my vaccum!!

The top handle connects to the lower half of the handle with one phiilips head screw. The screw is halfway between the cord holder on the back. The screw had come loose and the handle has slid back away making it not make contact to send the power down to the motor.
Hope this helps someone else!

Same problem here; brush motor started/stopped as I changed the angle of the handle. Before finding this solution, I had tried bypassing the cut-off switch over the left axle, that turns off the brushes when the handle is perpendicular, but that didn't work. Moving the handle still caused the problem. This connector in the handle solution seems to have solved my problem. Before tightening the screw, I noticed the handle wiggled back and forth easily a the joint due to age/use. And I didn't just tighten the screw, I also took a knife and enlarged the pins and collapsed the sockets of the connector ends to help ensure this didn't happen again for some time. Problem solved, thanks!

Do not get upset with me, but I must ask this question!!! 1) Did u try any other appliance in that outlet, or 2) Did you go back to the original outlet to see if the vacuum works there? It is kind of a coincidence that it quit working only after you moved it to another area. Let me know please!

My dyson no longer will turn on. Is there some filters I am supposed to be cleaning. Purchased the vacuum from someone who did not have the manual.

you have two filters, one under the lid on your dust bin and one in the ball. It could be the switch has gone bad because of overheating.

This might sound a bit silly but check to see if the cord is plugged into the machine correctly if it is check to see if the safety interlocks are all engaged.

Wind Tunnel vacuum motor won't turn on

The fact that you wiggled the cord and it came on would seem to indicate a defective cord, either at the plug end or at the machine itself. Look again at where the cord enters the vac and at the wall. twist it slightly if you see a thin or collapsed area that is your problem.

The power switch may need to be replaced. Call the Dyson helpline - they will give you the location of an authorized Dyson dealer in your area who will be able to replace the switch.

Hoover only two years old and it stopped working!
Posted by baby_nurse on May 02, 2008
My Hoover self propelled wind tunnel was working great until a couple of days ago when it started shutting on and off while vacuuming. I thought it was the outlet but when I plugged it into two different outlets it did the same thing. Then finally yesterday it just stopped working it won't even turn on when plugged in. I thought it was the switch but it is not. Is it the motor? Has the motor burned out? Do I need to buy a new one? Help!!

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.
Hoover U6616-900 Windtunnel Bagless Upright
I think you are right, if it is not the switch then it would be the motor. Does it smell bad like a burning smell? If so it is definitely the motor and then @ that point you may want to get an estimate for motor replacement, and keep in mind of what you spent on the vacuum versus what the cost of repair might be. My own rule of thumb is if it cost more than ½ of the price I paid for it then you have to decide – do I want to pay the repaired cost for the vacuum or do I want to purchase a new one. Just a suggestion... You may want to check with your local vac dealer. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

Won't turn on; no lights, no power.

Did you try a different outlet? The cord may have gone bad, most of the times I find that people don't pull the plug out of the outlet by the plug, they just pull the cord, or it got yanked out some other way and that will break the wire inside the cord. Other then that, it would have to be taken apart to find the problem.

Will not start again.

If the cord sparked, then it is bad and needs replaement. If it sparked at the plug end, then replace the plug.

Vacuum will not turn on

Of course it could have nothing at all to do with the sweeper. Has anyone checked the outlet you tried to use? It may be at fault. Someone may want to check the circuit breaker box for a blown breaker leading to that particular outlet. If that is not the problem, you should be able to call for repair services as the NSS Pacer is an industrial sweeper and must have a pretty good warranty.
