Question about Toro Super Blower Vac

1 Answer

My Toro Super Blower works fine & then I notice smoke at the cord

The motor and everything else appears fine and I've also checked out by interchanging the extension cords. Something is causing it to suddenly start smoking enough to singe the connection area. By that, I mean where the Toro cord connects to the ext. cord. In this case - smokin' hot is Not a good thing. Could it possibly be a short in the Toro pwr. cord or should I be looking more for an engine problem?
Thanks!
Chris

Toro model 51575. Was using it as a vacuum and it just shut off. Checked breakers ...all ok. Plugged it in direct to outlet and still nothing. What might be the problem?

Problem is my hardly used Toro Blower Vac is getting no Power

If it has not run for awhile, check the brushes. they might need to be replaced. The plug is usually moulded right on power cord. That might have to be replaced because if there is a problem with a broken or disconnected wire right at plug there is no way to see it. Hope this helps.

Plugged it in and it won't run but it was running fine when I put it away two weeks ago.

Check the plug for loose wire or at blower where wire it enters to make sure the wire was not pulled and disconnected inside. If after looking and it is not a wire, check the brushes on the motor. They could be worn out or not making a good contact. Blow out brush housing and re-install brush sometimes this works. That's about all I can think of unless there is a safety switch then check that. Good luck.

I have a Toro Super Blower Model 51591, and need a replacement power cord. None of the online catalogs show this as being for sale. Can you recommend an alternate source?

You probably won't find one (at least I haven't). But if your cord was damaged in the same way as mine (at the base, where it goes into the unit), I will be happy to share with you DIY fix that worked for me. Email to radist2000@yahoo.com.
