I agree the problem is the CF card. I'd like to add that it must have several back to back corrupt files to be refusing formatting. As much as I teach/lecture not to do this I also agree that to save that card place it in a memory card reader and format the card in the computer. Check before hand to see if there are usable pictures and load them to a new file folder before formatting. Once formatting has been completed in the computer check that all pins are in correct and serviceable condition in the card reader slot in the camera before install it back into the camera. Then reformat the CF card in the camera. Each time pictures are downloaded to the computer a CF card should be formatted. Deleting pictures just causes a huge amount of problems if done repeatedly in favor of formatting. I'm including some diagrams to show where the formatting mode is located on your camera. Best of luck
Take out memory card from camera, turn it On and check does it show format error? If yes, press Home, Memory option and format internal memory. If camera does not show format error then put back memory card in and press Home, Memory card option and format it. This will delete all files/ data and will refresh memory card, take some pictures and check. If after formatting, still format error exist, put new memory card.
That is what formatting does. It reorganises the memory in to an ordered and useable format and in doing so all files will be lost.
Fuji, Canon, HP and other digital cameras do not like being used with memory expansions if they are not reformatted every time the pictures have filled the memory card or you choose to download them. Its like the memory is still allocated to something even though you cant see it. So a good practice is to reformat after every download. If the problem persists then try another card and if this still gives an error then you will have to get the camera serviced.
Try formating card on your computer using An adapter. by then it should reformat card, if error still shows on computer chances are card maybe defective. check card as well if its lock or write protected there is a white switch on the side of the memory card itself.
I have two S760 also having the 'file error' on just some shots Like graham-s-sk new sandisk 2gb and when downloaded the file is there but the attributes are currupted. Talked to Samsung who said the sd card should be formatted on the camera and not to rely on the Sandisk formatting. Have tried this and taken 100 test shots - so far so good!
Do not ever format a card.,any card via a computer
That does it in. For camera use it will not be recognised.
Put the card in the card reader and if there is anything at all on it delete it.
Try to reformat in the camera again- failing that -new card.
that particular image corrupted through not deleting properly.
What to do?
1. Reformat the card in camera and sacrifice the images.
2. download recovery software and try to pull stuff off the card then reformat.
download recovery software from www.pcinspector.co.
no need to worry, there are so many data recovery software available on net. so just download it and get your picture back.I hope you have not snapped more on that memory card after formatting.
dont forget to tell me the result. I am waiting for your responce.
