3 yr old heavily used dryer now only works adequately about 1/3rd of time other times it tumbles with NO heat or very low heat even on highest settings (used to be too hot @ this high setting!) had repair man out who checked for adequate ventilation ,cleaned filter etc & could not find anything wrong he did NOT replace anything & (no surprise!) the problems remain I have a few months left on my warranty & want to be proactive in getting the necessary replacemnt part(s) for more consistant & higher heat. As the repairman seemed clueless re troubleshooting ideas I need your help with suggestions of poss problem & how to fix Cheers

I would check heating element also on the heating element box is a thermostat probably need to check that also take the wires off the heating element and use an ohm meter to check it out it should register and not go to infinity. Same for the heating thermostat.
Looks like my Maytag. My dryer belt is broken so doesn't tumble. Check by taking two screws out of tilted panel and look at belt.
If it isn't heating probably heat coil. If nothing probably electrical. Maybe door switch is open circuited.
You did not say what model washer you have. Top Load, Front Load and Model Number... That is very important.
As for the dryer..... If the washer is not getting a decent amount of water out of the clothes then the dryer could be becoming damaged continuing to use it. A dryer simply evaporates the water on tumbled clothes in it. It is is set on a TIME DRY setting, I doubt it will work at all. If it is set on AUTO DRY then, it could be running and running and destroying your dryer. You also may have a heating element that is weak or intermitently going on and off.
It is important to know how old, the brand, the model numbers of everything. Also if it is a Gas Dryer or Electric.
Sorry for the extra questions, but it is neccessary.
try flipping you breaker off and on 2 or 3 times (hard and fast) if this don't work check element, timer , thermostats and safety switch on motor 2 heavy red wires (check wiring diagram for pin numbers of safety switch)....if this switch goes bad the motor will still run but it wont let power go to element
Common faults - 1 Theheating elementscan fail(meaning open circuit) 2 There arecut-outs (T.O.C's)thatmight need resetting 3 Thethermostats (stats)can tripout or burn out (meaning opencircuit) 4 Moderntumble dryers also have sensors andpcb's (Printed circuitboards)thesehaveprograms that can fail and circuitry although most should produce an errorcodeshowing you were the fault is. 5 Faultyconnections and burned wires may also bethe fault.
My dyrer just stopped working one day. I've had the heating element checked, both boards and my electrical outlet checked but my dryer still doesn't work. All I get is a troubleshooting code that looks like an upside down F with a 5 behind it. If you have a solution to this problem please let me know Thank You.
