I had this problem. I noticed that when I would try to http to 192.168.1.1 (even after a reset) it would try to redirect me to the welcome page, but using a domain name that didn't resolve locally.

I think the address bar in my browser changed from:

http://192.168.1.1

to

http://routerlogin/welcome.htm

Assumptions:

You are able to ping the address, but unable to http to the setup page.

Solution:

Change the domain name portion to the IP address so DNS doesn't try to resolve it.

Example

http://192.168.1.1/welcome.htm

After you log in and perform the initial setup, it shouldn't do this any longer.

Hope this helps!

Eric

I have problem setting up my wireless network and redirecting my wireless client to my local webpages before they can access to internet.   see this diagram below :...

you need to replace your modem with a router that is capable of running Network Address Translation. You are trying to route private IP's (192,168.x.x) over the public IP (internet) network.

are you referring to the one for emailing? Go to your service providor(ISP) website, and look for email settings in the help/support screen. Each one is unique, so I can't really tell you which it is.
