Dell Inspiron 570 with Macafee anti-virus and Win 7 BSOD's trying to uninstall preinstalled Macafee product. Haw can I get rid of it and install another (Norton) product? I have 2 IDENTICAL Dells

LOL, you are going from one terrible product to another one. Norton and McAfee are core hogs, use a lot of resources and will slow your system to a crawl, especially if you let it expire. Why would you want something on your system that is so difficult to uninstall? Give em the boot. Try one of the FREE Antivirus programs such as AVG, AVAST or Microsoft Security Essentials.

Dell did not create this monster, your third party software is the culprit and they just don't deal with it if it's not their product.

Anyway if you tried the normal uninstall by clicking Start/Programs and opening the McAfee Folder and clicking uninstall and you're getting the BSOD, maybe try uninstalling it in Safe Mode With Networking.

Turn off the computer, then hit the power button to turn itback on and immediately start hitting the F8 key repeatedly until you see SAFEMODE. Take the Safe Mode With Networking option and let it boot up. Safe Mode will lookdifferent to you, the screen will be darker and the icons bigger, this isnormal. You can also go into the Control Panel and Uninstall the Program. Click Start/Control Panel look for Program and Features or Programs or Uninstall.
You can try the McAfee Removal Tool. Download and Install it, then run it. The link is below:http://download.mcafee.com/products/licensed/cust_support_patches/MCPR.exe

I've installed deep freeze v6.62.020.3058 and my antivirus has stop him from installing but deep freeze has alerdy installed some files witchi delete every modification and restore my desktop and

Click Start/Programs and find the programs in the list and see if there is an uninstall in the program's folder. If not, click Start/Control Panel and under Programs in the Control Panel you will see Uninstall A Program. Click it. When the windows loads all the installed programs, highlight the program you want to uninstall and click Uninstall or remove.

I have a trogen virus and no money can I fix it for free?

You can use free antivirus like Avira, Avg or Avast, they are as effective as full version antivirus if updated regularly and registered successfully.

You can download::
1. Avast Free

2. Avg Free

4. Avira Free

Don't install two antivirus at a time, if you are installing one of them or if there's any antivirus program installed on your computer, please uninstall and install the new one, otherwise you may have another problem with your problem.

First install Avast and run a full system scan, then check the scanned result, if you are sure that those trojans or virus etc..etc.. are removed, you are done, no need to uninstall and reinstall the other, or if you still doubt, you can try with the other two after the first one is uninstalled.

If you need further help, let me know.

Good luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.

I have a problem regarding norton 360 antivirus software.I want to uninstall it bcoz it is giving a error of security code alert.

i had the same problem, and uninstalled it as well. Do you need help uninstalling? you would need to go to *Start menu-->control panel-->add/remove programs: the list should contain all the programs installed on your system. as well in your start menu, under the folder of the programs list their may be an uninstall program. either way will work. I use Avast!! myself it works great and it's free!!!
