Question about Whirlpool 30" Self-Cleaning Freestanding Electric Range - White-on-White
I WENT TO USE THE OVER AND COULD NOT OPEN THE DOOR. NO ERROR CODES WERE ON AND NO INDICATOR LIGHTS WERE ON. I CALLED FOR TECHNICALL SUPPORT AND WAS TOLD TO CU OFF THE MAIN POWER AT BREAKER. DID THAT, NO LUCK. WAS TOLD I PROBABLY NEED MAINTENANCE.
CAN YOU HELP?
Yes, one thing you can try is to use a thin piece of strong metal and try to slide the latch over to open the door. You may have to shake the door as you do this. I have seen this done with a credit card. Similar to opening a door that is locked. Let me know how that does. One last ditch effort is to put the oven in self clean mode and let it run it cycle and maybe it will send a message to open the doot at the completion of it's cycle.

Tips for a great answer:
Hello robin_deathe - Will the door look? Is the door lock indicator light glowing? Try resetting the unit by either unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. Wait approximately one minute and turn the range back on. This will clear most false error codes. If error code still displays on panel, I would suggest contacting a professional to move forward accurately. The unit could possibly have a faulty light switch, door latch or EOC.

Error code F5-E0 indicates that there is an issue with the
door latch switch assembly; if the switch tests open then the door lock
assembly should be replaced. Hope this helps...please post back for further

Make sure that the oven door is closed when you start the Self Clean cycle. Check the door switch to see if it is apparently operating properly. Open the oven door and the oven light should turn on. Press in the door switch plunger and the light should turn off. If the light switch is not operating properly, it could cause this type of problem.
If the light switch is operating properly, then you could have a failed door latch assembly. A wiring failure or a problem with the control board could also cause this failure. I recommend that you unplug the range and access the door latch assembly at the back of the range. Pull the upper and lower back panels off of the range. Caution: The edges on these panels can be sharp. Protective gloves are recommended. With the panels off, check the wire harness connections on the door latch assembly.
