Whirlpool Ultimate Care Dryer not heating

I've checked to see if there's excessive lint but no such luck. Is there a pilot light I might need to light or do I assume that the heating element is dead?

is it gas or electric? check your outlet to make sure both 120 volt leads are hot, also check breaker or fuse box.  if its gas, make sure your not out of gas!

SOURCE: lint trap

There should be a rectangular flap on the top panel at the rear right of your dryer. the lint filter is in a chute if there is just a hole here then the filter is missing.

SOURCE: Where is the pilot light on the Whirlpool Ultimate Care II Dryer?

Hello gigiknoll
Welcome to Fixya
My name is Huum,

This model should be electronic ignition and does not use a pilot light.
The igniter may be faulty.or the gas module may be faulty.
Pilots are a thing of the past!
This requires a tech to test it with equipment.

No heat. all sencors in back including element check good and have been replaced but still no heat.

I'm sure you've cleaned your lint filter, but you also need to make sure there is no lint blocking the silver dryer hose. Mine gets plugged at the exit from the house and once I remove large amounts of lint, I have heat again. Also, if it's a gas dryer, is your pilot light lit?

My dryer is a ultimate care heavy duty super capacity runs fine but it wont heat up so it don't dry. Does it have a pilot or something i need to replace?

Hi,

If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heating the most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glows sometimes it is still not working properly.

if you dryer is gas check out this gas no heat tip....

If you have an electric dryer, you can have many different things that can go wrong causing the dryer not to heat.

check out this electric no heat tip...

The dryer appears to be overheating. The top of the dryer housing get hot while drying a load of cloths. More than normal. Checked dryer vent, lint catch (clean) and exhaust hose and all appears clear.

Excess lint can also cause a dryer to get too hot. Again, you should check the filter and the vent for lint. Clean them if needed. Another thing that could cause a dryer to get too hot is a bad blower. This would need to be replaced if damaged. You should also, never use white plastic vent. This can cause your dryer to overheat and also be a fire hazard.
If you are not already a repairman, there will be some problems that arise that you cannot fix. The idea is to know what to look for and to fix whatever problems you can. This way, you don't purchase a new one or call a repairman unless it's necessary. When making repairs, always unplug your clothes dryer for safety. If parts are needed, make sure you have your manufacturer and serial number with you before going shopping. This will help ensure that you buy the right parts and save you another trip to the store. Most of us are intimidated at the thought of dryer repair. Just keep in mind that a lot of common dryer problems are simple (excess lint) and can be fixed by anyoneIf the dryer heats when the Fabric Care/Temperature switch is set to AIR FLUFF (No Heat), check the following:
-HARNESS/CONNECTION
-HEATER RELAY
-FABRIC CARE SWITCH
-EVEN HEAT CONTROL
Procedure:
1. Perform the Fabric Care/Temperature Switch Test
2. Set the following configuration:
Door- must be closed
Fabric Care/Temperature switch- AIR FLUFF
Timer- TIMED DRY
3. Press the PUSH TO START switch
a. Check voltage on Heater Relay. If P3-1 to P3-2 is 0VDC, replace the Heater Relay
b. If P3-2 is 48VDC, replace the Even Heat control.

Whirlpool Gold Ultimate Care II: No heat

didc, on a gas dryer, if the thermal fuse blows it will still rotate, but will not heat. Since this is a gas dryer, see if the ignitor is glowing. If it is, then you know the thermal fuse is good. If not, the thermal fuse may be blown or the ignitor itself and thus the reason for no heat. Catriver.7152136.jpg
