Find what driver I need or a solution to the problem

Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)
This is the device Windigo Virtual Audio Device (WDM).
Hope you can help.

your logitech driver is probably for mouse & keyboard or webcam... you need to download the drivers for the WDM card that the experts here are posting links to... and then you need to install them.

the drivers from your original installation have somehow been corrupted... maybe you had to re-boot by button or the computer rebooted on its own and the file got messed up.

if you go to your start menu and click 'Run' and type in: chkdsk.exe that might help, and may solve other problems in your computer, but you still may have to reinstall the drivers for your sound card.

also, if you type chkdsk.exe /f you will be told you can't do this now and if you want to you can run a disk scan when you reboot... type Y for yes and then Exit to leave the window. when you reboot the computer the scandisk will run (it's a blue screen) and correct any problems it can't fix when you're already in windows.

a quick question... do you have an up-to-date anti-virus installed?

you probably need ot re-install the device drivers. do you have the disk with the drivers and/or software for your soundcard?

also, what operating system are you running?

there are some links to the downloads in the other solutions posted, this is the starting page for them...

you will get a popup window, put your service tag number in there and follow the directions from there... i think dell will tell you which driver you need if you put in that service tag information, and then specify that you need the drivers for WDM.

once you download them you just have to run the program to install the new driver... if it asks you if you want to overwrite any files, say yes... if after doing this you are still getting this error, you can try uninstalling the drivers and then reinstalling with your new download to be sure all the associated files are the new ones.

please read the solutions above this one as well... they do point you in the right direction!

oh, and let me know if you don't have the service tag number... you should though, it's kinda important...

- ps... let me know if there's something you don't understand...

you should try to scan your hard drives with your antivirus... if all is clean, try the scan disc (chkdsk.exe that i explained earlier) and then install the drivers if things are still not working properly.

also you might want to try turning off your antivirus when you install the drivers... sometimes that can be a problem... just remember to turn it on afterwards... only do this if you have already scanned and your computer is clean.

In the Properties section for the WDM, uninstall the device driver. Restart your computer and let it scan for hardware changes, and let it search for the necessary drivers online and follow the prompts to install the driver(s) that your computer finds.

The problem is cause by a faulty driver for your optical drive. You need to download n install the latest drivers for the device. You can download the driver from here :

Select the driver according to your device by first checking in the device manager {Right click on My Computer... go to propertied n then click the hardware tab}

You can also get the driver by using the Service Tag located on the PC tower by going to http://support.dell.com

There you can enter the service tag, select the Operating System, and then choose the correct audio driver for your computer. This should resolve the issue.

A dell Dimension 3100 (your selected item) was shipped with Windows XP or Vista originally. NOT Media Center 2005.

Is the model of your PC listed properly??

Your device will not be recognized by the PC without the correct Device Driver installed, and If we do not know the proper information... NOBODY can give you the correct answer!!
