Question about HP Photosmart D7260 Printer

Pictures will not print and paper will not load for printing pict

The message I keep getting is -Load glossy side of photo paper face down in photo tray.

Feed rollers attempt to grasp the paper in the photo tray but are unable to feed into the printer triggering the out of paper fault.

  • cruiser911 Feb 17, 2009

The photo paper is loaded properly in the photo tray. The tray is drawn into the paper pick-up area and the pinch rollers attempt to capture the photo paper but fail. The marks from the rollers can be seen on the textured side of the photo paper.

You need to push the paper through just touching the boundary of the printer paper tray

Paper won't feed through printer. (Lexmark X2690). Can't see anything stuck in printer. Paper won't go down past rollers, but I can't see down inside etc

Loading paper and original documents
1. Make sure:
• You use paper designed for inkjet printers.
• If you are using photo, glossy, or heavyweight matte paper, you load it with the glossy or printable side facing you. (If you are not sure which side is the printable side, see the instructions that came with the paper.)
• The paper is not used or damaged.
• If you are using specialty paper, you follow the instructions that came with it.
• You do not force paper into the printer.

2. Before loading paper the first time, slide the paper guides out toward the edges of the paper support.
3. Load the paper vertically in the center of the paper support, and adjust the paper guides to rest against the edges of the paper.

Smaller items will only feed crookedly into the printer document

Check to see if you are feeding the envelopes and 4x6 cards/photo paper correctly.

Both envelopes and 4x6 cards must be loaded and centered on the paper exit tray (not inside the paper input tray).

Printing envelopes:
  • Up to 15 envelopes can be loaded at a time.
  • The print side of the envelope faces down.
  • The envelopesare centered on the paper exit tray.
  • You print the envelopes with Landscape orientation.
Printing cards:
  • Up to 35 greeting cards, index cards, postcards, or photo cardscan be loaded at a time.
  • The print side of the cards faces down.
  • The cards are centered on the paper exit tray.
  • You select Automatic, Normal, or Photo print quality.

The glossy side is the print side, so it is inserted facing you.

Kodak 5300 wont print on glossy side of photo paper

I just sussed this issue out. On the front of the printer tray there is another pull out tray, this opens up and must activate the photo printing for A4 because it stops the paper falling on the floor once printed (cos once printed on photo paper it may still be wet). As soon as I opened the tray (and it then opens again - you'll see what I mean) it printed A4 photo paper perfectly
Hope this helps others
