Question about Nintendogs: Labrador & Friends for DS

1 Answer

Memory loss My daughter has been playing Nintendogs for a number of years and has bought and trained quite a few dogs. She started playing it yesterday and everything had gone, it was almost as if it was starting from scratch. What's happened and how do we get back to where we were?

I bought a used ds game for my daughter but cant erase the old info

To delete your whole game on nintendogs just press and hold the a, b, x, y, l, and r buttons all at the same time while the game is loading prior to the title screen appearing. (Right when it says nintendo) But beware if you erase all saved data, it and your puppies can never be recovered.

To delete just one dog go to the Dog Hotel and choose donate. Pick the dog you want to get rid of and you'll never see that dog again.

Naming the Nintendog

Unfortunatly you can't rename your dog but you could try donating it and buying it back or start the game over again To do this at the start of the game(when there is a white screen)hold in x,a,b,y,R and L at the same time. If it is a dog you received in bark mode just do it again! Sorry i couldn't be more help! Good luck with whatever your daughter decides to do!

My daughter has just bought her Ninteno DS and Nintendogs but all she can do is pat it there are no options to feed or walk and it has fleas. It lets her pat it and we can see there are 'issues' but can't...

it learns new tricks etc as you progress through the game.
pat the dog until it sparkles, it is now in a good mood so will learn a trick. put the stylus on its head and slowly move down, the dog will start to bow its head and eventually sit down. keep doing this a few times till a light bulb appears feed it to the dog. do this a few times so it learns the trick, when it learns the trick you can name the trick ie sit down. to clean your dog buy shampoo from the shop. oh and when you take it for a walk go past the blue question marks you might get a little present.

Memory loss

Quick, check every menu on the game. This is what happened to a friend who had Mario Kart. "Deleat data" was accadently selected when that person was trying to edit something. The data was lost. Check all menus. The wrong thing could have been selected. If you cannot find a way to deleat data, then make sure you never turned off the DS, DS light, DSi, or whatever when saving. If it was turned off when saving, then the following can happen: Nothing, Data Erase, or data destruction. Data destruction means the cartridge is ruined. That didn't happen to you, though. I am sorry, but you must start over.

We cant get past naming dog and teaching it to sit.

My little sister had the same problem. You just have to be patient and keep trying you dog will eventually get it right. If more then one person tries to do it the dog will get confused because of more than one voice. Also try speaking louder or softer and holding the mic. closer and farther away.

Dog learns name, then won't respond

That has happened to me a lot. I think that the problem is that she isn't teaching the dog fast enough. by that I mean that she might play the game one day, wait a few days then play it again.

Fixing this problem is simple. When the screen says, " Nintendo" in bright red letters and you hear dog barks, press the following controls at once: L, R, A, B, X, Y, START, and SELECT. It will ask you if you want to delete the profile, say yes, and then the game starts all over as if it was new!

Hope it helps~

Missing options on main menu

That is because you need to get to know your dog before you go anywhere.
