Whirlpool duet Gray ceramic seal broke.

On the Drum of my washing machine ( model GHW9100LW1 whirlpool duet front loder) there is this gray ceramic hard clay ring. It broke. Where do I get the parts to fix it? How do I get step by step instructions on how to fix it? Any help would be nice.

If you are talking about the counterweights, they can be ordered on line at Just type in your model number and look under the "Tub and Basket Parts" heading for items 9 and 15. Now depending on which counterweight broke (they are located on the back and front of the tub), the procedures to replace differ slightly. Can you place post back and let me know if it is the front or the back counterweight that is broken? If I am incorrect about the part you are describing, please elaborate a bit more and let me know which part it is.

Washer clunks when spinning & the plactic sheild between stainless steel tub & gray rubber seal is chewed. Any solutions to the problem would be greatly appeciated. This is a Whirlpool Duet model...

Hello, Thank You for using FixYa. I will be helping you today.Remove the back panel the center nut on the pulley may be loose and most of the time the pulley needs to be replaced when this happens. If you remove the nut you can see the pulley should be tight around the shaft its in no play or movement. If its ok tighten the nut and you should be good. If its not loose you would have to replace the front and rear outer tubs and spin basket which is well over $500.
Thank You and please rate my answer if it was helpful..

Duet GHW9100LW1 the machine is leaking and not draining property what do i need and where can i find these parts

depending where the leak is,in the rear it could be the wash tub seal in which you need new seals and while its out replace the bearings,if its in the front, then either your door boot seal is torn or the drain "weep" hole is plugged by soap scum and mildew

Loud grinding noise only during the spin cycle.

Try looking at the solution for loud noise during spin with gray water in drain. This also sounds like the bearings on the shaft supporting the stainless steel drum, in the aft half of the outer drum.

Whirlpool Duet: gray plastic agitator poece inside drum broke off

here's the part number for the replacement 8182233, thinking it may come as a 3 pack , if they're not broken no need to replace. but the new one will simply slide in and with a click forward lock into place. they also come shipped with a screw to secure. in order to install screw you'll need to remove the top of the washer(3 screws across the back of the top assy and slides back and off. then you'll see the top of the tub area, a small black hose will run from the white box to the left to directly top of the tub assy. remove ethe hose from the tub and spin the inner drum to the correct position, they screw hole will line up through the opening, re-secure the hose to the tub and your in!

Whirlpool Duet

firstly you will need to unplug the machine, then remove the lid, open the door and remove the metal retaining band from around the lip of the door seal (may need a small flat screwdriver to lift it up).
once the retainer is off the door seal should pull away from the front lip, this can then be folded inside the machine and out of the way for the next bit.
next you will need to locate the doorseal retainer on the inside of the machine may need a 7mm socket and small ratchet or a small philips screwdriver for this one, this one only needs to be loosened enough so that the doorseal will pull away from the drum.

refitting is pretty much the reverse of removal.

you MUST make sure the seal is on the drum lip corrrectly before refitting the retaining band or it will leak.

you MUST also make sure the drain holes are lined up with the ones on the drum.

hope this helps

please dont forget to rate the helpfulness of this reply, thanks kj
