Question about Acer AL1916B 19" LCD Monitor
I have an Acer A1916, and I get no response from the power button. I got my hands on the manual and troubleshooted the pins: it says to test U701 and U702 pin 2 for 3.3V, I get 3.3 on U702 pin 2, but not on U701 pin 2. U701 is a set of traces, while U702 has actual components on it. There are no transistors that appear bulged, and the other traces check out (CN701 pins 5/6 @ 12V and CN701 pins 9/10 @ 5V) from the power board jumper to the main board. Does it sound like a dead main board?
Try checking for a short between pins 2 and 3 on U406. I had the same problem on 3 monitors. I removed this component from 2 of them and replaced it on the 3rd and all three of them work now. I am unsure of this components purpose.
