You need to purchase 36A, 37A Regular Cartridges from Lexmark.com website. These cartridges are refillable.

Instructions for refilling cartridges on a Lexmark Prevail Pro705 printer

Please note that Lexmark does not recommend the use of refilled, re-manufactured or clone cartridges. You might not get the print quality you expect from the ink that is specially formulated by Lexmark.

I refilled Lexmark ink cartridges 36 black and 37 colored and my lexmark printer 4650 series keeps saying empty cartridges and won't let me print. Can you Help?

36 and 37 can be refilled, but they won't work. They are "return program cartridges" as Lexmark calls them. That actually means that they CAN NOT be refilled. You need to buy 36A or 36XLA and 37A or 37XLA. Those are refillable.
Here is link to Lexmark's site, with a compatibility list.

Hope that helps!

My lexmark x6690 wont print after i refilled the cartridges,it tells me the cartridges needs re placement, how can i overide this ?

if you are using cartridges number 36 and 37 (or 14,15/ 23,24/ 28,29/ 41,42), you can only override it by buying new cartridges. But they need to have a letter A after the number, i.e. 36A and 37A- those cartridges can be refilled, the ones you get with the printer can't. They are, as Lexmark calls them, "return program cartridges", which means they can be used only once. "Return program" means you can send them back to Lexmark and they will refill them for you (not sure if that is true, but that's what Lexmark says on their website)

Hope that helps!

Refilling cartridges

For that printer: there are 4 color and 4 black cartridges BESIDES the #31 photo cartridge. Lexmark has made it so you MUST either, throw away or send to them, the 36 and 37, the 36XL and 37XL. The printer will never again recognize them after they are removed from the printer...
However, the 36XLA and 37XLA AND the 36A and 37A as well as the 31 Photo may be removed from the printer, refilled, and reinstalled.

I have seen some forums that say you can but a piece of BLACK tape, across the bottom row of contacts on the non-refillable cartridges....I believe there are 4 to 7 contacts across the bottom row only.....and the printer will still give you a message that it needs ink.....but it WILL print. I have not tested this theory yet though. I have just gotten the first message saying my black ink is very low.

Hope this helps and I think Lexmark Corporation Sucks for tricking people like this. (This printer comes with the NON refillable cartridges as default, but I did NOT see in the documentation that it couldn't be refilled. Nasty people........:(

Good Luck~~! mstipps@yahoo.com

Need refillable ink cartridges for lexmark 3650 all in one printer

Refillable cartridges for your printer are 36A and 37A. You also have the high yield version: 36XLA and 37XLA.
The important thing is that after the number there is the letter A.
Here is link to Lexmark's site, with the cartridge compatibility list for your printer:

Refill inkcartridge 17 of lexmark x2250 don't work

“Lexmark does not support the refilling of its ink cartridges. Refilling the ink cartridges can cause them to leak, thus clogging or even damaging the print head. Any damage to your printer caused by refilled ink cartridges may not be covered under warranty”. Please use genuine Lexmark cartridges for best results.

Reset Lexmark 36 Black cartridge?

I managed to get it working, just damage the connection point (where the chip is). I used a knife to break part of the connection and now I can fill the cartridges myself for a fraction of the price :)
