Question about Panasonic PT-52LCX66 Projection Television

1 Answer

My Panasonic PT-52LCX66 popped and cracked

And wouldn't turn on, lamp indicator flashed orange 3 times, tried turning on again and red lamp indicator flashed red 1 time. Ordered new lamp ( needed tv for super bowl) and still didn't work. Took to repair shop and he said it was the power supply/ ballast board and the part would cost $300 and with labor $350- $375 and he couldn't guarantee it didn't short out anything else, so it could possibly cost more. I spent $268 on the lamp whch I don't think is returnable, The tv is only 26 mo. old. Is it worth repairing? And what is the actual part name of the board he's talking about?

His prices sound a little steep. Most ballast boards un $100-$200 Labor and service call should be $250-300. If you are bringing the TV to him, it should be less. Check with Panasonic for an authorized servicer in your area for a quote and maybe a little help with the cost of repairs. Sometimes, the manufacturer will agree to cover the part cost or more, so call them!

Panasonic projection TV does not turn on.

Power LED flashes orange 1 x 5 secs. = 1 of 3 fans stopped. TEMP LED flashes 1 x 5 secs, = Temperature error. Lamp LED flashes 1 x 5 secs. = lamp ballast error. (check lamp 1st.)
Hope this helps.

My Panasonic PT-52LCX66 worked for about a week after changing the lamp. Now it won't turn on. 3 orange power blinks and 4 red temp blinks. Please help! My husband is to hard to babysit without a TV :)

Three orange power blinks indicates a 'Malfunction 5', and that your unit requires servicing. You can try pressing POWER on the unit for over 7 seconds, and then turning the set back on after 5 more seconds. If this doesn't help the set needs servicing.

If you didn't reset the lamp timer after replacing it, you might try that by following these steps.

If you think browsing the troubleshooting section of your operating manual may help, you can access it here.

I hope that helps.

I have a Panisonic pt-52lcx66 that won't come on.

OK AT THIS POINT IT COULD BE A BALLAST ISSUE IT SOUNDS LIKE IT'S NOT SENDING THE CORRECT AMOUNT OF VOLTAGE TO THE LAMP TO TURN IT ON, AT THE START IT NEEDS A KICK OF 15,000VOLTS TO TURN ON AND IF THE BALLAST IS WORKING CORRECTLY THIS WILL HAPPEN
HOPE THIS HELPS
