Replacing the drive belt on a hotpoint tdc30p and need a diagram of how the belt goes round the drive and pulley system

wrap the belt around the drum first then the slack at the bottom wraps around the motor shaft. Then it has to go either left or right side of the tensioner wheel, but the flat side must touch the tensioner wheel(not the ribbed side of the belt). You know you got it right when when there is tension on the belt when it is correctly installed. I dont have diagram so this is the most simplistic way of describing how to install it.

Have repleced the thermostate and now cant put the belt back on.

Look for the tensioner that pulls the belt tight. You should see a wheel with a metal arm that you can push down. Once you push the tensioner down, you should be able to slide your belt back on.

Need to replace drum belt

Most dryers have a tensioner pulley that the belt needs to go around to keep it tight. The belt goes around the motor pulley and the drum, but it goes around the tensioner pulley in a way that would keep it tight (you also need to release the tension on the tensioner to get the belt around it) If there's not a tensioner pulley there has to be some other means of putting tension on that belt, look around the the other pulleys that the belt goes around.

How do you tension the dryer bet on a Kenmore 80 series dryer

you will have to loop the belt through the roller first then while you are installing the belt around the drum it will have tension. two people will need to install this since you have not done this before I assume. One to hold the drum up for you

Need help replacing the belt on a dryer.

The tensioner wheel needs to push on the back (the flat side) of the belt. It is a bit difficult to describe, but the way I do it is to loop the belt around the drum and motor pulley only (it will be very loose, but do it as though it wouldn't need the tensioner) then pull back the tensioner pulley and seat it to the back of the belt, so that when you release it, it removes all the slack.

Sorry I don't have a diagram I can direct you to. It is a bit confusing at first, but once you get it, you will be amazed at how simple it is.

Belt came off tensioner, and tensioner off unit.

Here is the tensioner diagram you need, for most any dryer.

http://www.applianceaid.com/images/belt-config.JPG

First clean and lubricate the axel of the wheel with some spray silicone. Try not to get it on the wheel outer surface.

Then locate the slot in the bottom of the cabinet floor. The wheel should line up with the drive wheel at the end of the motor shaft.

Place the tang of the tensioner in the slot.

Press the wheel wayyy back passing a loop of the belt BELOW the tensioner wheel and loop it over the end of the small drive wheel.

Release tension on the tensioner and the wheel will pull it taught.

Whirlpool model WGD5300SQ dryer belt is off, roller is laying loose, is there a diagram?

If the belt slipped off, this will cause the idler pulley to come loose. This is normal with no tension on the pulley to hold it in place. To re-install, follow these steps:

1. Loop the drive belt around the dryer drum with the groove side facing the drum. (Try to line the belt up with the wear marks already on the drum from the previous belt).

2. With the tensioner in your left hand, insert the clip end of the idler pulley into the grooves on the dryer bottom casing with the idler wheel pointing to your left. (The grooves are directly in front of the drive motor.)

3. While holding the tensioner in place, insert the belt UNDER the wheel with your right hand and pull it up and over the drive motor pulley.

If this does not explain it well enough, you can also verify by going to repairclinic.com. Click on the Repair Help link and look for the "Dryer Belt Diagrams" link under the Special Features section on the next page. Look for Whirlpool and refer to diagram H. If you still have questions, please let me know. I hope this helps you.
