Question about D-Link WDA-2320 (ASKU54036) Wireless Adapter

D-link WDA-2320 wireless adapter keeps dropping signal

My adapter keeps cycling through between connected and identifying The laptop doesn't do that and the signal never drops below 3 bars (yes I have sat there and watched it). Also the D-Link wireless manager no longer works (keeps giving me a dll error, but my registry manager says it's ok) Everything is updated religiously, just been working like this for about 2 or 3 weeks and can't figure it out.

The laptop works perfectly. It's all on the same access point. I know it's a netgear router but not sure of the model (we share access with the neighbor) Running vista. Hope this helps

So, the laptop isn't getting an IP address at all? Do you have multiple computers connected to the access point? If so, do any of them work? What kind of access point/router? Does it also provide DHCP for the network? Are you using any kind of wireless security?

Are you using XP if so you can restore your computer back to a date when it was working or you can try this

Use the Windows XP SFC command to have windows scan and repair files; to run this command, follow the below steps. Additional information about the SFC command can be found SFC command page.

  1. Click Start
  2. Click Run
  3. Type "sfc /scannow" and press enter.
Once the above steps have been completed, Windows will verify that all protected windows files are intact.

Reinstalling the wireless adapter

vista have this problem...

first, switch off computer and remove physically card from the computer, then de-install all possible traces of it, run ccleaner and clean the computer as well as registry.
go to d-link site and download newest drivers for your adapter, and os (vista). unfold software to c:/dlink

switch off computer again, re-install card and re-power the computer.

when automatic software install start, select manual install, point to newly created folder c:/dlink and select appriopriate driver from there, install.

this procedure usually solves the problem, vista try to instal generic windows drivers not specific hardware drivers, to prevent occurence of that, disable automatic updates in vista, and once a month or so, do only and only security updates from windows, never, ever update your hardware drivers from windows as these are just generic drivers generating more problems than solving. hope this help.

there is nothing inside a PC that will keep it or anything else from connecting to a wireless network. You have to lookout for things that use the same frequency such as cordless phones and believe it or not microwave ovens. both broadcast at 2.4Ghz which is the same frequency wireless routers and access points use. Your problem may also be a neighbor with a wireless router or access point using the same channel. Wireless routers and access points have 11 different channels that they can broadcast on and if you and your neighbor are using the same channel there will be interference. try changing the channel on your wireless router or access point.

D-Link WDA-1320 cannot find apsSearchInterface in wlanapi.dll

Hi,
There is only one best solution: Take your Windows Vista DVD and throw it in the nearest trash can available. Vista was Microsofts biggest failure to date and has been replaced by Windows 7 which is far more stable. Save yourself lots of future headaches and get rid of Vista.
Best wishes,

D-Link WDA-2320 not working

To make sure it's not a driver problem: Click Start>right click my computer>click Properties>click Hardware>click thr + next network adadtor. Right click on your wireless adapyor and click on uninstall. When it's done, move tou're pointer to the top where it says My Computer or the name if you gave it one. Right click on it, then click on scan for hardware changes. Your system should find the card and install it and tell you it's ready for use. If you need a driver here is a link: http://support.dlink.com/products/view.asp?productid=WDA%2D2320#drivers
Also, with d-link there should be a little d on your task bar. Right click on that, click on show available networks and make sure it's connecter to youre. If this fixed your problem please rate it fixed. If not just add a comment and I'll be glad to help. Thanks.

If you have Blinking light on your d-link wireless adapter, then it is aquiring a IP address from your router. Did you add your d-link adpter to your router? How many computer are accessing your router? Do you have your router set with Encryption code? You might need to change channels. Did you name your (SSID)?
