When turning ps3 on it gives this message; can not start correct hard disc was not found.also blue light dose not come on..??

Your HARD DRIVE (aka: Hard Disk), located on the left side of the unit, has crashed. You will need to replace the HD.

When you replace your hard drive, you will need to have the latest firmware on a

usb stick. Download the firmware from the playstation official website onto a usb

stick. Once prompted by your system you will need to insert the usb stick into the

PS3. Good luck..

You will need 2.5" Sata Hard Drive.

Cannot start -correct hard disc cannot be found!!!! this has suddenly appeared on the ps3

This likely means your hard disk has come loose for some reason. This can happen if the system get's bumped around too much or too hard, or even from rough transport. i.e., the back of a car

All you need to do is open 'er up and push it back into place. Follow the steps found here and you should have no problem getting your unit open safely.

Playstation 3 screen says " cannot start, the correct hard disk was not found." after turned on. will do nothing else. any ideas?

A long shot but it sounds like your hard drive has basically "switched off". If you have a USB sata hard drive dock I can help but its a bit of a complicated process. You need to remove the hard drive from the PS3 and plug it into the USB sata dock then connect it to your computer. Goto Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Computer Management -> Disk Managment. Look in the lower area of the screen that appears for your PS3 drive, probably E:, and look if it says "Not initialized". If it does, right click where it says that then click Initialize Disk. Put it back in your PS3 when it is done and hopefully it will turn back on. You will lose all saved data though as the hard drive will need to be formatted.

Hope this helps

When I turn the game on on after the update it keeps saying cant read the correct hard disc

This isn't hard to fix but it's a bit annoying. The easiest way to fix it is with another PS3. Have u got access to another PS3, a friend's perhaps?

Cannot start. The correct hard disk was not found.

As with many of us current and former PS3 owners you need to have your HDD (hard disc drive) replaces. sorry

PS3

This could mean that ur hard drive has failed, this is a a very common problem for hard disc video recorders (PVR).

If you have the confidence, open ur PS3 extract the HD and connect it to a pc to do diagnostics on the HD
