Youll need to lift the top of the unit, and and form there youll gain acees to the outside of the drum assembly, the "tumbler bars" are secured by 5/16 screws from the outside ofthe drum assy

I have the same problem with the same model Maytag dryer. I called a repairman and paid a hefty service charge and the repairman found that the electronic control board needed to be replaced. This particular part (Part #8558455) costs between $250 and $350. Evidently there are many people with the same problem.

My tumbling bar in my dryer in coming loose - how do I fix it

Remove the 2 screws holding the dryer door hinges and remove the 2 screws on the opposite side of the hinged ( in the door opening ) . Then the front panel will pull out ( from the top ) and off . This will give enough room to use a driver to tighten the baffle screws .

Maytag dryer won't rotate after blower wheel replacement

Check the drive belt and belt tensioner. From the way you describe it, the belt is loose and with a load in the drum, it will not rotate due to belt slipping.

It is heating up but not tumbling correctly

Drive belt for the drum is probably broken and needs to be replaced.

Machine keeps tumbling after wash cycle is completed.

Make sure that the replacement R11 is in fact connected to pins 1 & 2 of the Q6 triac. If the copper trace on the backside is open on either leg of the R11 to the Q6 then the wax motor will stay energized and that will cause the tumbling after the wash cycle.

See www.neptunehelpsong.com for a new funny song that explains the Maytag Neptune door latch wax motor issue.

Dryer Not Tumbling

If you are talking about the front of the machine, above the SERVICE ACCESS PANEL, then after you remove the screws at the bottom of the FRONT PANEL, pull the panel toward the front and the top of it will pop out. It is in place with small GUIDE SCREWS and a couple of removeable clips.

If your barrel is not tumbling you probably have a broken BELT and it needs to be replaced. Easier to do this from the back I think. It goes all the way around the barrel of the dryer, so you have to put it on the barrel then attach to the IDLER PULLEY and SERVICE BOLT.

Your drive belt is old and has glazed. It will likely break soon. Replace it. Make sure the belt contact area is clean and free of any kind of dirt or grease.
