Question about Asko D1716 Built-in Dishwasher

Blinking lights on Front Panel

I have an Asko 1473 Superior. The dishwasher runs longer than the expected run time, usually much longer. Then the machine shuts off with two lights blinking on the front panel. The Pots and Pans and the Normal Wash lights blink, till the door has been opened. I'm assuming that is a fault code indicator, but don't know how to interpret? If anyone can let me know, I would appreciate it.

Thanks,
Tim

I've finally tracked down the manual and it the fault code is as follows

"Indicates a fault in the heater or in the thermistor"

You can go into a fault tracing mode by pushing the "Rinse Hold" button five times within 15 seconds. The first, third, fifth and seventh lights will flash when in this mode and you can test the following parts by pressing the corresponding button. I'm going to try the heater test below and assume that if that works the fault must be with the Thermistor. The other tests could be useful for other faults.

User manual found here

Rinse Hold - tests detergent solenoid, detergent flaps open after about 60sec

Pots & Pans - tests Rinse Aid Solenoid, rinse aid will flow down door

Normal Wash - tests water inlet valve, water can be heard entering

Light Wash - tests ventilator solenoid, there will be a click followed by a rattling noise

Quick Wash - tests the heater, the element heats up, WARNING don’t touch element HOT

Temp - tests circulation pump, the pump starts

Dry - test outlet pump, the pump starts

Manual says to push 55 and 65 degree button to exit, I have no idea where those are so will probably just switch off at wall to reset.

Hope this helps someone. I rang ASKO and they said they didn’t know what the fault code meant so either they can’t read or their service sucks, probably a bit of both!

Tried the above steps and the heater element in the bottom of the washer didnt heat up.

I took the front cover and switch panel off the machine (had previously replaced the power switch in the handle) and found a spade terminal had come away from the main circuit board. It had a blue wire attached to it that went down to the bottom of the machine and was the bottom one of the two blue wires. I removed all the other plugs from the board, removed the board (four screws), resoldered the spade terminal to the board and fixed two other dry joints, put it all back together and voila, all fixed.

I probably should have looked at the board when I replaced the power switch and would recommend anyone else who has the front cover off their machine to quickly whip the board out and check for dry joints while you've got the machine apart.

    Half an hour well spent!

Asko 1805 - inside light is on, none of the operation (front panel) lights turn on

Quite simple after all. If the main power button on the top left hand side of the door is pressed in (on). Whenever the door is openned their is a light in the DW which comes on like the fridge or oven.

Keeping the power button off turns the light off. For us this is good as we usually only close the door fully (catch catches) when we run the machine. This way we are not wasting electricity.

Lights on the Asko D1996 keep blinking

This depends on the blinking pattern. Of the eight lights on the panel, if the four on the left blink on and then the right four lights blink on as the left ones go off, and keep blinking back and forth, that just means the mode has been set and the Start button pressed. After closing the door it should just continue on wherever it is in the cycle. (This is normal operation).
If you hold down the Start button, this resets the dishwasher. If you then close the door, nothing will happen because it thinks it's done.
If the lights are blinking in a different pattern, such as they all blink on and off in unison, that indicates an error condition and needs to be diagnosed. If the pump is not running constantly, then at least it's not because water is leaking out somewhere.

Asko D1796F1 builtin...lights are on but no one is home

Our Asko D1796 dishwasher has the lights on the panel working as usual but you can't select a cycle and it won't turn on. We unplugged the pipe. If we turn it off and wait for 12+ hours we have gotten it to work twice.

Have the same problem with our asko 1475. In the past, we would disconnect the dishwasher and when we reconnected the power, it ran fine. This time it isn't helping!
