Is there a LG DVD DRD8080B program that I can download for my CPU

My CPU CD ROM driver was not reading the disk and My dad is a technician and he replaced the CD ROM driver but it was still not reading the CDs that I put in. So he changed the cables (he saw a hold in one of them) but it was still not working. He told me to see if there was a software or something on the internet, so that I can download it so that the CD ROM drive could work but I only found places where I have to buy them from. I want to find another way. Basically I want to download it from the computer can you give me some site to look up.
