The southbend 436d range gives a yellow flame at the burners

We have adjusted the air ways to increase the air to the burner but still the burner produces a yellow flame. What can we do to improve the flame of said range? We have propane gas fed to the range.

This model Southbend range is "built to order" for the gas type.

Orifice alignment is critical on this model especially on propane, so make sure that the orifices are pointing directly down the burner venturi tube.

Also, the air shutters for the open top burners will probably have to be wide open.

If you are in an area with an elevation higher than 2000 feet above sea level, you will have to run a smaller orifice.

Those are nice ranges. Good luck!

Hello. Please advise if your unit is supposed to run on propane, at the bottom of the oven door is a smaller panel, depending on age, it either lifts slightly, and then folds down, or clearly has screws on the front. Your Model/rating plate is behind this, either on the back of the panel, a tag screwed to the frame, or on the bottom ledge of this area. It should state what gas the unit is meant for, propane or natural. If it was not converted to run on propane, or made to run on propane, this is your problem. If it was built/converted for propane I would suggest you contact your propane supplier, or a restaurant service company to look at it, it would require a few specialized tools, pressure testing, orifice size req., and burner BTU. to go much further than cleaning the dust out of the burner, and cleaning the orifice.

Hope that helps, and thank you.

Flame on main hob of range master 110 is yellow and smelly also black sooty deposit left on jets

Ream out all the orifices and air venturi holes on the burner, adjust the air-ahutter, the air-shutter is usually nearer the valve/knob than to the burner. Yellow flame is an imbalance of fuel to oxygen and is creating Carbon Monoxide and not burning cleanly... this is the same problem that can make a furnace deadly. Blue flame=neutral flame.

Tappan signature 2000 adjusting the flame from the burners they are burning yellow

yellow flames in gas burners indicates
1--insufficient gas pressure
2-- the position of the air shroud around the gas jet is wrong and needs to be moved forward or back to adjust the amount of air available for the air /gas mixture
correct mixture is a blue flame

Why my cooking range big burner giving yellow flame whereas other burners running.

A yellow flame indicates not enough air is reaching the burner. That particular burner may have a clog which is preventing sufficient air.

FLAME IS YELLOW INSTEAD BLUE for sunbeam gas range

Yellow usually means more air than gas mixing at the burner. The top of the stove lifts off. There are adjustment screws in front of every burner. Turn the burner on after first locating the screw. Turn the adjustment screw until desired flame is achieved. You want a flame with a yellow tip and the body of the flame blue. Please be very careful not to get burned. Hope this helps.

Kenmore twin burner.. orange flames

A temporary orange flame from your gas stove can also occur at peak usage times. An increase in local demand can cause a decrease in pressure in the natural gas line. If all of your gas appliances are in combustion simultaneously, this may also cause a drop in pressure, especially in older houses. If the problem persists, it is likely a dirty/clogged burner or the stove needs servicing. In general, an orange flame (on a gas combustion appliance) means incomplete combustion and carbon monoxide production.

Flame does not seem hot enough - too much yellow flame.

In a gas dryer, heat is provided by a gas heater that is controlled by an air shutter. The gas heater is generally the source of no-heat or drying problems. You can often correct such problems by adjusting the air shutter on the gas burner, which is located along the bottom of the dryer.

To adjust the shutter, take out the screws and remove the panel that covers the gas flame. Turn on the dryer so the flame is burning. If the flame has a deep blue color and you hear air whistling around the burner, the air/gas mixture is receiving too much air. If the flame has a yellow tip, the mixture is not receiving enough air. Turn the thumbscrew or loosen the two screws slightly to increase or decrease the flow of air to the burner. Keep turning until the flame is a light blue color, without any yellow, and the whistling stops.

Burner flame adjustment

there are two considerations for burner height. 1) the gas adjustment screw on the knob and 2) the gas-air mixture to the burner. establish a flame and adjust the screw for a standing flame at the burner. adjust the gas-air ratio orifice so that the flame has no yellow tips.
