GE Electric Dryer Heats up but does not automatically turn off

GE Electric Dryer Heats up just fine but most of the time (not always), the dryer does not recognize that the clothes are dry and automatically turn off. Last night, I forgot to check on the dryer and it ran for 4 hours.

My Ge Harmony Dryer sometimes will not spend. It heats up but will not spend at times.

Try manually start the dryer. Take a piece of tape and tape the switch on the door. Then take one hand turn the drum and press the start button at the same time. If is starts then then you have bad motor.

Electric Dryer Shuts Off

During the auto-drying cycle, the moisture sensor could be the problem.

If it also shuts off prematurely during the timed cycle, the operating thermostat could be turning the heaters off before the machine reaches operating temperature. Another possibility is that the operating thermostat does not turn off the heaters at all. When the machine heats up, it gets too hot and the high limit thermostat turns the dryer off.

Hotpointdryer timer problem

There are two coils in the heating element, and if one burns out, the timer will not advance in automatic dry. The timer should still advance when using manual (or timed) dry.
