Question about NEC Dterm DTP-2DT-1 Phone

1 Answer

Phone cord Mine always gets SEVERELY twisted... SEVERELY! It doesn't seem to happen to anyone else and my phone is no further out of reach than theirs. I have to stand on top of my desk, let the reciever dangle to the ground and untwist it. Moments later, it's back in the same shape. Not real interested in a head set --- I'm not on the phone that much for long periods of time. Could it be the cord itself? I go around to other phones in the office and swap out cords... but mine always end - up twisted.

You can buy a small device that go between your receiver & the cord. It allows the cord to spin so it won't tangle. Sorry I don't know the "official" name for this. You can find it whereever phone accessories are sold.

Vodavi 616 system, I get a motor noise when using intercom on some lines so I replaced with new phones. After some weeks, that extension seems to have the motor noise recur. If I move that actual phone...

It's the phones.... I have the same problem, although mine are newer style Vodavi's 9015-71 phones / Infinite DVX system.

It happened right after I did a hard reboot on the system....

Does the sound go away when your speaking into the phone and then come back as soon as you stop speaking? (That's how mine is)

When I plug the phone line (Comcast is the provider) into my GN Netcom GN7100 Base it "shorts out" (according to the Comcast Tech) the voice modem and so I can't get a dial tone. This makes it impossible...

1. Be sure the jack on the base unit is clean and that the pins inside are straight. 2. If try line another cord - the cord is often the problem due to twisting or crimping. You can test the cord on another phone if you don't have a spare. 3. Make sure the headset is in the off or "on-hook" position. 4. To see if the unit itself is defective try it at a friend's house. Do other phones work OK on that line?

I suggest that you contact your Network Service Provider regarding this issue. Perhaps, a low signal from your provider that is why you're experiencing this problem.

If you need further assistance, let me know.

Replacing Switch & cord on OLD Eureka upright 403B...
Posted by volunteer2 on May 09, 2008
I have ordered and received what seems to be the correct switch and replaced the belt, but cannot figure out how to get to the switch. I also need to shorten or replace the cord because it is severely worn where it bends onto the winding posts. This old vac worked well until recently and is the property of our church and we can't afford to replace it right now.

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.

It sounds to me that you have a handle switch / cord and if you shorten the cord you need to also purchase a cord protector. Usually it may be covered by screws or a pop rivet and you would have to drill out the pop rivet and the switch cover will come off and then replace it with new pop rivets or screws and use the cord protector if you shorten the cord nut I would not advise it because the longer the cord the more vacuuming you can do without going from plug to plug. Suggest that you check with you local vac dealer in your area or use some suggestion I will give you listed below.
So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

2 uniden cordless phones aren't working

I always tell people NOT to buy new batteries to try and fix their cordless phone. It seems to rarely solve the problem and you are usually better off just spending the money on a new phone. Unfortunately 5 years is a long time for cordless phones these days. There are so many brands, and so many thousands of models, it's impossible to keep track of them all.

Display dies, although phone still functional

My razr V3 dropped from an astonishing 40cm to the floor, after that both screens stopped working. I opened the screen by removing the four tiny screws in each corner (t5 screwdriver which I didn't have but the smallest of my miniature screwdriver set just fitted), and popping it up carefully. There a two flatcables, one with a silvery color and a connector with a black piece of foam on it. I think it's the screen signal carrying cable. I removed it and put it back in place, pushing it firmly. After that the screens worked again. 10 minutes of work and a great deal of satisfaction. Further, the phone stinks. regards, El Rudo
