Question about Creative Labs Zen Digital Media Player
The new Creative X-Fi MP3 player is awesome; however, it recently started freezing EACH TIME I disconnect the player from the computer after transferring files. Creative says to reformat the player, which is like starting all over again and I rather just buy someone else's player since it will take hours to get all my music and books transferred again. I did try an alternative that Creative suggested and CLEANED the player, which doesn't format the player but is said to fix certain issues. Did not resolve the issue; player still freezes each time I transfer files. The player does rebuild itself and everything operates normally after the freeze when I push RESET, but I just wonder if anything else will work, short of reformatting. The Creative FAQs also claim that if I install the updated firmware, I have to REFORMAT the player, or might backup all my files or something, which concerns me. Any insight on that issue? Thanks!
