Linksys EZXS16W needs power boost to connect to WMB54G Music Bri
Added a linksys EZXS16W to my wired home ethernet. To get my two WMB54G Music Bridge to communicate to pc's I had to add a hub to each music bridge to boost the signal I presume. Why would this be necessary? Switch works ok with dsl router, pc's, and a pair of netflix rokus.

Let's check some settings for the network connections. Click on "start" - "settings" - "control panel" - "network connections". First we'll check the ethernet connection. Right click on "local area connection" - "properties" - choose "Internet protocol (TCP/IP)" - "properties". In case of not at automatically settings click on both buttons to "obtain an IP address automatically" and "obtain DNS server address automatically". Click on OK at both windows. Now we'll check the Wi-fi connection. Right click on "Wireless connection" - "properties" - choose "Internet protocol (TCP/IP)" - "properties". In case of not at automatically settings click on both buttons to "obtain an IP address automatically" and "obtain DNS server address automatically". Click on OK at both windows.

im not 100% on the Q but if its a motor home then the best thing to do would be one computer connected to the disk vea ethernet but you could get a router and use both cheepist thing to do is to run 1 computer
Hi, by default the Linksys router is set to DHCP... So all you have to do is connect an ethernet cable from your modem to the WAN/Internet port of the router and then connect a PC to one of the ports, see if that will be able to connect to the Internet if not, try to do a power cycle (turned off everything and then turn on the modem first and wait for all the lights to be stable and turn on the router and then the PC) once the computer gets online you may connect the rest... should you require to connect more than 4 PCs, you may need to have a switch but with this setup the physical connection should be
Modem to WAN port of the Router to Switch port and all PC should be connected to the Switch's ports
Hi There, first of all you need to connect from your modem or router's port a link. Use a cat5 ethernet cable from the modem to the switch or if you also use a router from a port in back to the switch. Then when you plug in other computers it will see the internet connection.
Most liklely you shouldn't do this unelss you are willing to do the work to properly ground the cables on each end. I'm pretty sure your hub iuses a DC power brick so it won't handle it for youm you'll have to build a breakout box of some sort to do this. Remember that if the cable isn't grounded properly on each end it will actually make things worse.
Running at 10M with Cat 6 cable it is highly unlikely that you will have issues with electrical interferecne even with the the undesirable routing of the cables in your house.
hello.just a simple way to install..don't plug in the router on the CPU then install 1st the CD installer step by step.after install the driver reboot the unit then after booting plug in the Router wire on the Lan/Network..Good Luck...Thanks..Have a Nice Day...^_^
You need to connect a router to the cable modem. The router then gets an IP address from Comcast and provides a gateway between the computers connected to the router.
The modem expects to communicate with a single Ethernet device, and provides an IP address to the first device that provides a piece of data called a MAC address. By placing a router in-between, the router gets the IP address that lets you communicate on the Internet. It provides local IP addresses to the equipment connected to the local Ethernet and "routes" those to the Internet. You can either hook your two devices into the router if it has enough ports, or hook you switch to the router and hook your PC and PS3 into the switch.
You need a cable or dsl modem to connect to the internet. From the modem you run an ethernet cable to the "broadband" or "Internet" port of your router. Also make sure your lynksys is a router, not a switch
