How can error 98.01.01 be solved

When exactly did you get the error message 98.01.01? Was it while you was trying to do a firmware update? I found a forum support page regarding this error but so far it remains unresolved on many websites. I checked all of the LaserJet's error codes and, like in the forum link, it appears this is related to a bad firmware update or faulty connection during a firmware. I have heard of people just repeatedly trying the firmware update until it goes through. In fact, there is a firmware update for this printer.

To get to the firmware update, go towww.hp.com/supportand type in your product name under Software and Download and press enter. Next, you will have to select which printer you have (m551n, m551dn, or m551xh). Once you select that, it will take you to a Business Support Page and the firmware updates are located on the left hand side under Setup, Install, and Configure and then in the middle of the page you will see "Firmware Download and Install." I will need to know a bit more information before I can help you with any of those steps, however.
First of all, how is the printer connected to the computer? What is the Operating System and System Type of the computer (Windows 7 64 bit, Windows XP, Mac Version X.X, etc)? Are you able to print or do anything else with this printer? Answer those questions if you need any more help.16x16_smiley-happy.gif

49.00FF service error hp color laserjet 4700n

This error is most often caused by out of date firmware on the printer.
Power off the printer and it restart and it should come to ready. If the error reoccurs, make sure that you have any print jobs in the queue of your computer cleared. If it still does not start without the error, unplug any network or usb cables and restart again. Once the printer is at at ready, use the control panel to go to the information menu and then print the configuration page. The firmware date code will be on the left hand side. Current firmware is 48.180.9.

If the firmware is out of date, see the link posted below to download the firmware update. Chose the easy firmware update as this is the most straight forward way to update the firmware. Once downloaded just double click the file you downloaded and it will run and ask you to chose the printer you want to update. Pick your 4700 from the drop down menu (should be fires option). Then update click update firmware.

You can find the current firmware here

System error e225

Hello 3G,

To resolve the issue Error e225,

Turn the main power switch off and then back on-ICMF 4000 series/D400 Series

or

Update the firmware :

There is a risk that the MF4150 will not operate if power interruption occurs
during the firmware update. Please make sure MF4150 is connected to
reliable AC power source.

1. Save the downloaded file "MF4150_FirmwareUpdateTool_V0xx.exe on local drive. (i.e. desktop)
Computer Requirements for update
- Microsoft Windows 2000 or XP (32bit)
- Equipped with a USB port (either 1.1 or 2.0)
- Free disk space: 100 MB or more
2. Make sure that Processing/Data indicator (Green LED) on the MF4150's operation panel is turned off.
If the light is lit or blinking, wait until all the jobs are finished (i.e., COPY, PRINT, and SCAN), and that the Processing/Data indicator is turned off.
3. Make sure that Error indicator (Red LED) on the operation panel is turned off. If Processing/Data indicator (Green LED) is lit and Error indicator (Red LED) is blinking at the same time, jobs are held in the printer memory due to an error, possible cause is out of toner or paper has run out, or toner cartridge is not installed. Check the LCD for and error message and refer to the documentation that came with the printer to resolve the error.
4. Disconnect Fax line cable from the MF4150 to prevent Fax reception interruption during firmware update.
5. Make sure the USB cable is directly connected to the MF4150 and your computer.
  • Do NOT use a USB hub to connect the cable, as it may lead to a connection error.
  • Make sure the machine is not in the Sleep mode (i.e., [Energy Saver] key on the operation panel is leit). To exit the Sleep mode, press [Energy Saver] and confirm that the Energy Saver light is off.
  • You need to log on as an administrator to perform this update.
  • Make sure that no other applications are running on your computer.
6. If [Found New Hardware Wizard] appears on your PC screen, click [Cancel] to exit the screen.
  • [Found New Hardware Wizard] screen may be displayed multiple times. Cancel anytime you encounter this screen while performing this update.
7. Double-click ?MF4150_FirmwareUpdateTool_V0xx.exe? that you downloaded and saved.
8. Double-click "MF4150_V0xx_FirmwareUST.exe" that is in the newly created folder as a result of uncompressed downloaded file.
9. Confirm that the machine is in the ready status, and then click [Transfer]
  • If the printer is not detected: Check if the printer's power is turned on and the USB cable is properly connected. Then click [Retry] to proceed.
10. The firmware is transferred to the printer.
  • Never turn of the power to the MF4150 while firmware is updating. If power interruption occurs while the firmware is being updated the control board will be damaged and will need to be replaced. The replacement of the control board and labor will not be covered under warranty.
  • If an error occurs while transferring the firmware: Check if USB cable is properly connected. Click [Retry] to proceed.
11. When [Firmware transfer is complete] appears, click [Exit].
The printer starts the update process automatically.
<ERASE FLASH ROM> appears on the printer's display while the existing firmware is being erased.
Then printer's display shows <FIRMWARE UPDATE> while updating the firmware.
When the firmware update is complete, the printer's display shows <FIRMWARE UPDATE OK> <MACHINE POWER OFF/ON>
12. Turn printer's power switch OFF, wait 2 seconds then turn the power switch back ON. Check that there is no error on the printer display. Reconnect removed fax line cable.

We have a M2727 Laserjet Printer/Fax . We can print, and we can receive fax, but our problem is sending a FAX.. Keeps giving us an error code of 49. Please advise Thank-You, Marla

I found this on the HP website:

HP LaserJet M2727 Multifunction Printer Series - 49 Error Message Is Displayed While Faxing ISSUE: The printer control panel will be displaying 49 service error while sending faxes. The receiving fax will be lost, and the printer will display the same error even after reboot. SOLUTION: Performing a factory reset and a firmware upgrade is the only solution for this issue. Step 1: Performing a factory reset Restoring the factory-set defaults returns all of the settings to the factory defaults, and it also clears the fax header name and phone number. CAUTION: This procedure clears fax numbers and names that are associated with one-touch keys and speed-dial codes, and deletes any pages that are stored in the memory. The procedure then automatically restarts the product. Perform the following steps to restore the factory-set defaults: 1. On the product control panel, press Setup . 2. Use the arrow buttons to select Service , and then press OK . 3. Use the arrow buttons to select Restore defaults , and then press OK . The product automatically restarts. Step 2: Firmware upgrade After coming to ready, upgrade the printer firmware from the HP website. The issue can be fixed with any of the firmware upgrade available now. Firmware version 20080505 and higher versions have the fix. You can download firmware version 20080612 from the HP LaserJet M2727 Firmware Update 20080612 webpage. Click here to go to the HP LaserJet M2727 Firmware Update 20080612 webpage (http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=18972&prodSeriesId=3377075&swItem=ma-55531-3&prodNameId=3377076&swEnvOID=228&swLang=8&taskId=135&mode=4&idx=3) . The preceding steps will resolve the issue.

Error 49.4C02

This error relates to application file types not working, such as PDF, Word etc.

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SupportTaskIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&taskId=130&prodTypeId=18972&prodSeriesId=415204

Download the HP Firmware update for the specific printer and install.

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?objectID=c00267158

I found that Windows XP & Windows 7 work fine after doing the firmware update, which was released in June 2010. However, Windows Vista continues to have issues, despite the firmware update.

Error 79 ...shuts off and the screen says error 79

Hi angelahender:
Here is your problem.
79 Error
PowerOff>PowerOn
The product has experienced an
internal firmware error.
Disconnect the power cable from the
product, wait at least 30 seconds, then
reconnect the power cable and wait for
the product to initialize.
If the error persists, upgrade the firmware.
Firmware update via flash executable
The configuration page lists the firmware version of the product. On
flash-memory-based products, you can update the firmware code by
downloading the latest flash executable for the product and running
the program according to the readme instructions that come with it. If
the firmware should become corrupted or fail (usually because of an
interruption when attempting to update the firmware), the product will
no longer function. In this case, a firmware recovery DIMM is
available from HP.

Hope this helps
