So when you aren't using the sub woofer there's not enough bass, so you need more out of the other speakers. Chances are the front speakers are set to "small" in the receivers menu, change it to "large"if your front speakers have a 6 inch woofer or larger. Note: If you leave the sub on, the input signal to it will be greatly reduced when the speakers are set to "large". Hope this helps.

Integrated amplifier for Mordaunt-Short Avant 908i

Use an amplifier with NO MORE than 150 Watts per channel or you be buying new speakers. At this power level don't expect booming bass boost without damaging the speakers. The Rotel generates 130 per side which is very near the safe maximum for those speakers... and the specs look good. If you are not satified with the sound, the speakers are LIKELY the problem. Look at getting good commercial speaakers instead of CONSUMER grade speakers. Go to a music store dealing with bands and musicians and view the products they have to offer. Consumer speakers often fail when people turn up too much bass. At high listening levels hearing damage can result.

I got a teac ag-v8060 audio/video surround receiver and I'm tryin to hook up some surrounsound speakers along with a jbl g cinema sub can you describe where the wires go in the back of receiver? The sub...

On the back of the receiver, there could be "pre out-subwoofer". If your subwoofer has the same type cable input, that would indicate it is a powered(amplified) sub. Connect those two. If subwoofer only has red/black speaker inputs, it is a passive sub, which means spkr signal runs thru it and then to your main left and right spkrs.. Run your receiver main or front spkr left (red/black) and right (red/black) to those corresponding sub inputs, and then sub spkr outputs to each of your main left/right spkrs..

For surround, on the back of the receiver, there should be spkr outputs (red/black) noted as "rear".

Just make sure red to red, and black to black.

Hope this is helpful.

I Have a buzzing mordaunt short avant 916i cone

Hiya, its the cone. The former is touching the magnet inside. Realignment is really tricky and dont know many people who can do that so you may either have to live with it or see if someone can recone it in your area.

Best of luck

I have 2 10inch spekers in a box that just stopped playing the bass! can anyone help? ive checked the fuzes!

If the fuses are good , this could still be a prob with amp, check spkrs with a ohmeter(cheap one from the Shack or anyplace) by touching both leads to spkr terminals, disconnect spkrs first.Have ohmeter set to ohms Rx1 and you Test amp out put by connecting two spkrs that you know are good. Good luck and please rate this answer, thanks.

Speaker connection from Denon AVR 2105 to Wharfedale suround

The spkrs sound like they are bi-amp spkrs, meaning you have multiple terminals on the backs of each spkr, the jumpers on the spkrs should be connected as such. Now you just connect the spkrs according to the Denon spkr conection diagram. Do not use the surround back unless you have 6 or 7 pair of spkrs

Rampage BA-100 200W amplified subwoofer

Actually. I don't think you have to wire a remote switch from the radio to the amp on this product. This powered subwoofer supposedly has automatic signal sensing turn-on circuitry. I have the same problem. So I think I'll try to just hook up the power (to the battery), ground and the + / - speaker wires to one of the back speakers in the car and see if that works.

Mordaunt Short Avant 309i subwoofer set-up

Lots of ways. To set it up properly you will need a decibel meter, Radio Shack makes a nice one. With the meter volume can easily be set as well as phase. I'm assuming frequency is the crossover frequency, generally set at 80Hz. This one involves some trial and error as I am not familiar with your speakers. Don't know much about the notch filter. A good resource for setting up subs can be found at: http://www.hometheatershack.com/forums/bfd-rew-forum/index3.html
