It doesnt detect my internet connect

It doessnt detect my internet connection

  • Anonymous May 11, 2010

What doesn't detect your internet connection? a handheld portable, your laptop, your phone...??

Please have more information about the product (Brand, Model, Specs).

Otherwise you might get some odd answer to your dillima such as: what your it doesn't know how to detect a internet connection because it doesn't have any ports, and since your it truely isn't meant to be connected with the net and since we don't know if your it is even real, so if you want your it to be something more important then being known as an it, then please give your it a name otherwise you will never know if your it can or can not connect to IT.

Check your cable and modem (your hardwares) It seems that source of problem comes from your phone line or hardware, or maybe you need to reinstall modem driver

Emachine won't connect to the internet. Ethernet cable, router and modem all work just fine. problem is with computer. Check network adapters in device manager and no problem noted there. Why won't it...

first try to check if your wireless can actually detect a network, if it can try to remove ALLthe network that you have on your wireless network and try to add your network again, if still doest work try to uninstall and re install your wireless driver, if it still doesnt work try to restart your router, if still doesnt work try to do system restore to the point where your wireless was workin fine, lastly if still doesnt work try to contact your ISP for some configuration.

My laptop wont connect to the internet but my home computer that is plugged in to the internet works. my laptop connected when i first got it but now it doesnt work anymore. it says it can not connect to...

You will have to "connect" to your network by double clicking on the network icon lower right screen of the laptop and "view" networks, find your network and connect. It will ask for a secured password (WEP) key which you will have to enter.

Also ensure the laptop explorer settings are set to..open explorer, go to tools / internet options / connections / lan settings / automatically detect settings.

Wireless internet connection problem

You may be having a problem with the settings in internet explorer. If you open your internet explorer and then click tools then internet properties you will have a window pop up with several tabs. Click the tab that says connections. Down towards the bottom right is a button that says LAN SETTINGS click that and make sure that there is a check in the box that says Automatically Detect Settings. Click OK Click APPLY Click OK. Restart Internet Explorer and see if it connects.

If that doesnt work reset your wifi adapter. Step by step instructions here:

http://www.icompute.info/fix_wifi.htm

If that doesnt work then open the command prompt by clicking Start then run (vIf you have Vista click in the search menu above the start button) Type CMD and hit enter. You should see a black and white screen that looks like old DOS. Dont worry about what the prompt says. Type IPCONFIG and hit enter. You should see your networking adapters. You should see one with a 192.168.-.- (Linksys routers normally make the first computer 192.168.1.100)
If you see a 196.254.-.- or media not connected then your device is not connected. This will at least tell you if windows is getting a proper IP address.

Some people might say your WinSock files need to be repaired If everything still does not work then you may have a WinSock file or files that are missing or corrupt. This is probably not the case since you can connect hard wired but if you want to try repairing your winsock files then with XP you can use a program from the internet called winsockfix. If you have Vista then when the no connection error comes up you should see a link that asks about trying to fix the problem. If you see this click it and let Vista fix Itself.

If none of this works then try a different adapter. Hope this helps...

Wifi connection problems

Many internet provider only covers the installation of the cable modem. When you connect a router to the modem, the internet provider views the router as a new computer and not authorized since when they setup the modem, it was connecting directly to the computer, not the router. You need to contact your internet provider and let them know the situation, and usually they have a website to activate or add the router to their list under your account. If this is not done, usually it won't be able to get the internet. You are getting the signal from the router since it is broadcasting the signal, but no internet connection.
