Headset symbol displayed with no headset plugged in

My phone has the 'headphones' symbol on that appears when you plug in your headphones. However, i have no headset plugged in!!! It is diverting all sound to heaphones that arent there so i cant play music or hear calls. When i plug my headset in, i dont even get sound through them.

Anyone know what is going on??

I'm getting so so tired of these ridiculous problems. you shouldn't own a phone if you can't solve these sorts of prblems yourself. pathetic!

Not my problem. There is definitely a problem with the phone. If you don\'t have an answer then keep your smart comments to yourself.

I can not hear anything and the phone has the headset icon on, how do i get it off

There is a switch inside your headphone jack. When you plug your headphone in it moves and breaks connection telling the phone that the headphones are plugged in. Try plugging and unplugging a headset to see if it frees this switch up. If not you may have a malfunctioning switch.

Also, turn off bluetooth if it is on...it might be hooked up to a bluetooth headset if you have one.

Headphone symbol when answering the phone

Add the accessories to your profile which you are currently using. It will show you the icon of the accessory connected.

Turtle Beach X3 Microphone issue

It sounds like the plug and the jack are incompatible.

Check to see that both are what's called TRS connections, i.e., Tip/Ring/Sleeve.

TRS plugs & jacks provide two separate circuits (in this case, one for mic, one for phones).

TRS jacks/plugs are also called "stereo jacks".

Phone shows its on headphone but its not

This mostly happens from water damage to the connection ports. Use some 91% alcohol and wipe the connections with a toothbrush. Hopefully it will disconnect from headset mode

PLANTRONICS Headphone won't work with IP 501 sip, polycome phone

Dont plugged into the headset jack. Like Nortel, connect headset line with phone base unit in receiver jack and plugged your phone receiver wire into headset or plantronic base unit. This will work. I am sorry, my english is not too good but hope you understand it now. But the pully is not working properly with IP501..I mean it is not good to pickup IP501 receiver and put it back right place.

Nokia 3500 headset symbol in display

I have a similar problem on my phone, which is that when I insert my headset, it does not recognise it. And thus the music is played through the loudspeaker. And if it is recognised (luckily), then after I take it out, I see that the headset sign is still there. The only solution I have had is to turn the phone off and switch it on again. The sign should go away by then.
