Emachine tower won't turn on

Hello,
I have an Emachines desktop. I have checked that there is power to the case, reseated the cables, there is a small green led that is lit up on the motherboard (Its always on) so I'm assuming its not my power supply.the power supply fan and the case and cpu fans start then all the fans stop with in seconds of start up,I jumped the molex connector and the PS fan will stay on.I tried jumping /shorting the two pins on the MB where the power switch connects and nothing.
But no matter what I do the computer will not turn on from the switch So do you have any Ideas?

First check the power supply or swap another.
remove ac power cable and clear the cmos jumper.
connect only power 20 or 24 connect and test power on. no off? (no video because no power to cpu by 4 pin or 6 pin connector)
plug 4 pin connector and test power on. if on and off check cpu power section (mosfets) if burned one pls remove ... you can test short by touch the mosfet by finger (burning heat)

Check ALL monitor cables, reseat connections. Have you done any hardware or software updates? Graphics Updates? Do you get anything at boot? Just no signal? It sound like a hardware issue, Graphics. Support for your machine can be found here: http://support.gateway.com/us/en/emac/product/default.aspx?modelId=2064 You could buy a PCI e x16 Graphic Card . Better ,faster Graphics. First, check VGA connections, reseat, check for bent pins. Try another cable and monitor, to verify.

Emachine T5234 beeps 5 times and won't turn on

5 Short BeepsYour motherboard is complaining. Try reseating the memory and rebooting. If that doesn't help, you should consider another motherboard. You could probably get away with just replacing the CPU, but that's not too cost-effective. Its just time to upgrade!

problem with you either capacitors on motherboard or capasitors in smps, 80 % it becouse of capacitors in smps, it's not providing sufficient power to motherboard.

This could be a memory dump issue or a parity cheksum issue
what you need to do is open up the tower and take the memory strips out and reseat the same and reboot the system

I have an emachines T1440 desktop. the front face of the machine is broken, the power cord, and the wires from the power cord to the power supply box. What type of case or tower can i use the remaining...

Luckily, eMachine uses a generic system board. You can purchase a case from any computer store. The only thing to watch for is the plate in the rear of the motherboard, make sure it matches your ports. Again I believe you can use the one from your eMachine.

My emachine T1742 desktop will not turn on. When plugged in the power supply's fan turns on, cpu fan doesnt start, both hdd/power led's flicker and pressing power button doesnt power on/off system.

Disconnect all the devices from the computer(tower) including keyboard, mouse, monitor(everything)..even the power cable

Now keep on holding down the power button on the computer tower for 15-30 seconds..

Now release the power button, plug in the power cable, monitor, keyboard, mouse and turn on the computer...

If it works, great!!!

Otherwise, take it for repair..

My PC Will Not Start

Hi wah4pay,

this white USB plug has nothing to do with the eMachine not starting up. My guess about the white USB is it might be for your printer (If you have one). USB cable supplies 5volts DC only which it not enough to power a desktop or laptop PC.
As far as why the PC will not start, check the back side of the tower. See if the main power cable is plugged into the power supply & it also is plugged into a working wall outlet. There is a small RED slide switch on the back of the power supply. Make sure you can see the numbers & letter, 115v.
If the switch is set to 230v move it to 115v. Try starting the PC.
See this mini video of the T3646, you'll notice there are two USB ports on the back side of the PC & two more on the front of the case:
http://reviews.cnet.com/desktops/emachines-t3646/4505-3118_7-32924902.html

If this is a new PC, it most likely came with a one year warranty. You should call eMachine for free support. Your documentation will provide a phone number for support.
If your eMachine is not new or no longer under warranty let me know by posting here & I'll give you some other possible suggestions that may help get the system to start. Please include the year bought & month
