Question about GE Refrigerators

1 Answer

Refrigerator and freezer are both warm

GE Profile Refrigerator PSS26SGPASS 'Frig temp is 42 degress and the freezer temp is 27 degrees. Lights work on both sides and the fan(s?) are/is running. I bought the unit new 06/24/2003

Other than the fan not stopping its sounds normal...

Any ideas or help. Manual says warranty is for 5 years - I'm almost 8 months out of warranty. Will GE work with me on this?

You probably have a sensor issues there are two one for the freezer one for the frig. Check your freezer temp it should be at 0 degress at manufactor setting. If the temp is below -10 you freezer sensor is bad. Otherwise your frig sensor is bad. CHECK FREEZER FIRST!!!

All of a sudden my GE Profile Artica's freezer is at 25 degrees and the fridge side is at 43 degrees. I've forgotten how to "set" the temperatures but I'm afraid that's not the problem. Any ideas?

I would clean the condenser coil. This coil is located under or in back of the frig. When they get dirty the frig can't pull down the temp.
It's a common problem.
I hope this helps.

Temp fluctuates in ge profile refrigerator and freezer

Mine is doing the same, but because we were getting frustrated with the interminted noise and motor we kept switching on and off until we realised the frig did not work at all. The key to our problem was, let the frig do its own thing as we realised it was auto defrosting. After 3 days of meddling with this thing, we thought we killed it. Just leaving it on and forgetting about it, it righted itself, and walla it has not missed a beat since. We even blew up another frig in the mean time because of the predicament we thought we were in with all the produce. Good luck and just let the frig do its own thing.
