Philips Nino/Windows ME problem

By Charlie - usenet poster

Hi!

I am using a Philips Nino 300 for several years now, but have a
communication problem. Using Windows 95, I could connect it over the serial
port & open the "Mobile Devices" folder to see a "mobile PC" icon. It was
possible to make a backup / to copy file by file to the desktop computer.

Now, I have bought a notebook under Windows ME & cannot establish a
connection. When I try with IR, I get the message that no carrier was found.
Connecting with the serial cable works (message confirms that the connection
was established), but I cannot see any "mobile PC" icon in my "Mobile
Devices" folder. I do not know what to do to make a backup of the files,
which I couldn't do for the last eight month! Is there anybody who can give
me some help/advise?

Thank you very much for your help!
