Question about HTC G1

Cannot turn on my adp1

My android dev phone cannot be turned on.No response at all when pressing the boot button, no screen, no vibration
and no led lights even when charging, but i know it does charge as the battery feels warm after some time

Maybe due to I recently used a emergency charger to charge the phone.
I tried replacing the battery but it still doesn't work.
I am very frustrated as I do not know where to repair the phone.
I am in Hong Kong.

Is the android dev phone under any kind of warranty by any company? htc?
Does anyone have similiar experience or know how to solve the problem?
Or just tell me what can I do. Thanks a lot.

How to format HTC WILDFIRE A33333

Factory reset is not a step to be taken lightly. It will permanently delete all your data and customized settings, and will also remove any applications you've downloaded and installed. Be sure to back up any data and files you want to keep before you do a factory reset

Performing a factory reset via settings:
The most convenient way to do a factory reset is via the phone settings.
From the Home screen, press MENU, then tap Settings.
Scroll down the screen, and then tap Privacy > Factory data reset.
On the Factory data reset screen, tap Reset phone, and then tap Erase everything.
Performing a factory reset using phone buttons:
If you cannot turn on your phone or access the phone settings, you can still perform a factory reset by using the buttons on the phone.
With the phone turned off, press and hold the VOLUME DOWN button, and then briefly press the POWER button.
Wait for the screen with the three Android images to appear, and then release the VOLUME DOWN button.
Press VOLUME DOWN to select CLEAR STORAGE, and then press POWER.Press VOLUME UP to start the factory reset.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it and give a testimonial for my response.

Thanks, Joe

My nokia n96 wont turn on it vibrates then there is an white light around the middle button but the screen does nothing

Remove battery off and replace after 15 minutes, if there is no response then it is possible that the software needs to be reinstalled into the phone.
you will need assistance to load an error free software from Nokia care.

My g1 tmobile phone keeps turning off on me? what can i do

If it keeps rebooting itself at the G1 and Android screen, you might want to factory reset the phone and clear all the data as there may be a virus. To do this, when turning on the phone, hold the home button and the power button even while the G1 screen comes up. Keep holding these until an image with a triangle comes up. You will then wait 5-10 seconds, and press the home and power button again together. This will bring up the OS screen, and provide you 4 options. One of these options is to wipe and restore to factory. Do this and your phone should work fine after you reboot again.

I turned my G1 phone off and back on and now all I get is a screen with a triangle and a exclamation mark on the screen, the phone wont even turn off unless I take out the batery.

If the G1 is stuck on an error or startup screen you can go to this link save it to your desktop and then unzip it, copy it to a memory card insert the card into the phone and then follow these instructions. http://android-roms.googlecode.com/f...3_Recovery.zip 1. The device must be powered OFF to perform this reset. If the device is on, turn it off. ? Note: If the device is not responsive and does not turn off, remove the battery and re-insert it. 2. Press and hold the Home button and the Power button (the red hang-up button) at the same time. 3. Keep holding Home and Power together for at least 25 seconds, even if the "Startup" screen appears. 4. Release the keys when you see a black screen with a warning sign. 5. Slide the keyboard open. 6. As a shortcut, press ALT+W to factory reset the device. If this does not work, continue with the below steps. 7. Press ALT+L. 8. Press Alt+S to apply the recovery. ?this is what you put on the memory card? 9. Press the Home + Back key.

or:

Power off your device
Press and hold both softkeys nearest the screen

Hi. Just try pressing the power button and reset button at the same time. Unit will vibrate when reset. You can use a paper clip or similiar to hit the reset button located behind the screen. After that, plug your device to charger for at least a couple of hours. Hope this helps.

Phone shows a call coming through but no sound

Taking the battery out to switch your phone ON/Off can cause serious problems.
-------------------------------------------

To receive calls, your phone must be on.
This is different from having only the screen turned on (see Turning your phone on). When your phone is off, your calls go to voicemail. To see a picture of the person calling you!
Learn how to assign a caller ID picture in Assigning a caller ID ringtone. If music is playing when a call arrives, the smartphone rings softly. You can answer the phone as you normally would. The audio pauses during your call. To answer a call, do one of the following:
• Press Phone/Send .
• Press Answer (left action key).
• If the headset is attached, press the headset button.
To ignore a call and send it to voicemail, press Menu (right action key) and
select Ignore or press the Power/End key.
-------------------------------------------

Waking up the screen and turning it off.
Wake up the screen and leave the phone turned off when you want to use only the organizer features of your smartphone, for example, when you’re on a plane and want to look at your calendar. You can also turn off your smartphone’s screen without turning off your smartphone’s wireless features. You can turn your screen on and off by pressing Power/End.
