Thank you for your help. After reading posts of a similar sounding problem caused by the charger not being able recognize the battery and re-charge it because it had become too slow. It seemed like this was a common cause for the np-20 lithium ion battery for the casio exilim. the solution was to use a 9v battery and connect the - to - and + to + for ten seconds to jump start it. this was very helpful and was sucessful. My charger was able to recognize my battery and was able to charge it.
Once again giving life to my formerly dead camera. Thank you again for all your help.

The camera will not turn on, batt r charged. Internal batt is good

How do you know that batteries are fully charged? If it won't power up then the indicator won't tell you their level. Pull both batteries. Push the power button (using what minimal power is left anywhere in the system.) Plug the camera into the external power source (mine has a base that will charge your battery, and supplies a cord for power to the camera.). If it still doesn't power up with the external power source, then I would say there's something wrong, but I'm betting it's the battery/batteries.

My rebel xsi won't turn on. there is nothing. I used it yesterday and it was fine. I changed the battery and still nothing! HELP!

Hi please try to do this and let me know. Remove the battery and give a look inside the battery compartment with spot light. Make sure that place are clean and there no damaged mark. Specially look the Battery connector pins. That should in proper place , not bend, not even sulfur layer there. Use ear buds and drop of alcohol for cleaning. After checking if every thing Ok then some how the power supply not able to connect the circuit board. Its happens when the connectivity cable disconnected or damaged, circuit board short or the power transformer stop working. For all this internal fault part confirmation you need to visit electronic repair center.

but before visit for repairing make sure the battery which one you use that's is fully charged with working condition. Thank you

Lens won't close

This problem happens because of long time no using/ Dust or Lens guide pin damaged. If the lens guide pin damage then there is no chance for repairing . Only solution is replacing the lens. For the solution you need to follow the steps. 1. Turn off the camera and remove the memory card and clean the external body of the camera and make sure in place of the lens there is no dust or damaged sign. 2. Now turn on the camera without memory card & make sure the battery are fully charged. 3. If the lens not moving then give a little shake or thrust by hand ( carefully very slow) and then wait for a moment. If no changes then turn on the camera and give a little twist an anti clock side and leave for few second. It is risky ( Do it slowly at your own risk) 4. If nothing change then reset the camera setting from the menu option. After following all steps, if the camera does not start working then you need to visit service center for replacing the Lens or Repairing. But before repairing ask service center the approx cost. if they told you to replacing the lens then do not do that. Because a new lens & service charge cost you near about a new camera price. So best is buy a new camera. If you have any more questions ask me I fell happy to answer your question. Thank you.

Canon powershot SD1300 IS won't turn on, even with fully charged battery

Things to check first for a camera that won't turn on are battery contact points, and micro switches that are located on the battery and memory card doors. Troubleshooting tips on other things that need to be checked may be seen here. These tips won't work for every case, but they're worth a try.

I have a brand new Nikon D3100. The battery was fully charged and placed in the camera. I took about 4 photos, and then turned the camera off. When I turned it back on the battery wasn't working to...

The solution to your problem is simple, Kathrynbax.

The battery never comes in fully charged. It's always charged only so you may be able to check if your camera is working. I suggest, you take out your battery and put it to charge for exactly 90 minutes as the manual says. Then I'm sure you won't face any such problems.

Hope this solves your problem.

Good day!

I was given a nice sony handycam camcorder. i was told the battery is probley dead

Batteries have a limited life even if they are constantly charged.
Leaving batteries in constant charge will limit their life by causing gas leakage. Once depleted, they must be replaced. There is also a small button battery that keeps unit memory up, if you do not use camera for months at a time, replace this battery also.
Ni-Cad batteries need to be refreshed ony once a month by discharging them fully, then recharging them fully for best performance to erase memory effect
